Yes your progress will be on temporary hold, however its much better to help reset your metabolism & hunger hormones this way. Dieting will always be there. ... Stay active! Kick a ball with your kids, go for a hike, swim in the ocean- whatever! Be mindful. Listen to your hunger cues. Eat when you're hungry & stop with your full DONT FAST! Fasting is an easy way to send you into a low blood sugar spiral & set yourself up for a binge Enjoy yourself. Dont focus on the food, focus on the people, your loved ones & make memories. 19.01.2022 PERSONAL TRAINING TIPS WITH @gkillenpt 21 THINGS YOU NEED TO STOP DOING IN 2021 Part 1 1. Waist trainers. they restrict your breathing & rearrange your organs. oh & they don't work. all that pain for 0 gain. ... 2. Working out 7 days a week. your muscles need RECOVERY to grow, youre just gonna burn yourself out & increase risk of injury. 3. Attempting to eat "100% clean". youre setting yourself up for a binge for no benefit. you can eat a cookie & still reach your goals. 4. BOOTY BANDS. sorry but they're NOT the key to growing your glutes. if you want to do some burn out fun rounds at the END of your session, go for it, but its not the make or break. lift heavy, eat well- they are not essential. 5. Doing 20+ reps for super light weight. unless you're at home with limited weights, if your goal is hypertrophy, there's no reason for you to be doing more than 15 reps. lift heavier. 6. Feeling like you need to eat 1000 calories to lose weight. unless you're under 5 ft, thats always going to be too low & setting yourself up for metabolic slowing & binging. dont do that to yourself 7. Supplementation. the only supps you MAY want to take is protein powder & creatine. however, you can absolutely skip out on these & still get the results you want. they're just the cherry on the icing on the cake, the 1%. oh BCAAS, they're expensive flavoured water. Trains entire body in 1 session Great for beginners Great for people who can only train 1-4x per week Great for people who don't enjoy other splits I utilise this split often for clients Upper/Lower Split Splits workout into upper (back, shoulders, chest bis & tris) & lower (quads, hams, glutes & calves) Great for intermediate/advanced clients Great for people who can train 4-6x per week Great for getting in more volume I utilise this split often for clients Push Pull Legs aka Bro Split Push = Shoulders, Chest & Tris Pull = Back & Bis Legs = Quads, Hams, Glutes & Calves Generally only works for a 6 day split Can run into issues with getting enough volume in & missing workouts Not practical for most of gen pop as 6 days may not be feasible I never program for clients Remember that the most important training split, is the one you can STICK TO LONG TERM (6+ months) Theres no point planning to train 6x per week if you know youre probably only able to get in 4 sessions. Be realistic with your expectations + goals & be honest with the amount of workload you'll be able to do, whilst balancing other aspects of your life. TLDR; Can you only fit 1-3 days training?
