24.01.2022 Personal Trainer & Crew Member, Charlotte cranking out some reps of one of our absolute favourite bench variations - the Bungee Bench! This variation forces you to maintain a very, very tight position, which is key for building a big bench Word to the wise: it’s hard. Charlotte’s very strong, so go much, much lighter than your standard press and work up before chucking a bunch of weight on and trying it for yourself!

Sadly, that exercise does little to nothing to warm your shoulders up :( Instead, we suggest the banded ‘W’ to prime your shoulders. Give it a go next time you’re in. 07.01.2022 DO’S & DONT’S Do your shoulders ache after bench pressing? There’s a good chance you may be missing some crucial cues when you’re getting under the bar. Follow this advice from Charlotte and watch your bench numbers rocket and your shoulder pain disappear -Engage your lats - big benches are built on a strong base... -squeeze your shoulder blades together and cram them down. This will put your body in a safer position to move a big load. -Twist your hands OUT against the bar - think ‘bend the bar’. This will help your lats remain engaged and your rear delts active throughout the movement -Remain TIGHT from your feet to your butt to your upper back. That tension will make the bar FLY! See more
