25.01.2022 Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl This Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl is packed with flavor and so nutritious. Ingredients... 3.5 cups water 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1/2 cup apple puree 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey for non-vegan option 1/4 cup peanut butter or any other nut butter Toppings: 1-2 apples of choice sliced 1/4 cup roughly chopped pecans Extra peanut butter to drizzle (optional) Instructions 1. Add the water to a small pot. Stir in the cinnamon and a pinch of salt and bring to boil over high heat. 2. Once it starts to boil, add the oats and reduce the heat to a medium. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. 3. Stir in the apple puree, peanut butter and maple syrup and cook for 1-2 minutes more. 4. Turn the heat off, cover the pot and allow the oatmeal to sit for 5-10 minutes. Add oatmeal to bowls and top as desired. 5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

22.01.2022 Quick Chicken Roast Serve up a golden roasted chicken with this simple one-tray bake recipe. INGREDIENTS:... 6 thyme sprigs, leaves picked 2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 teaspoon chilli flakes 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 garlic cloves, chopped Finely grated zest of 1 lemon 8 Lilydale Free Range Chicken Thighs 800g baby kipfler potatoes, halved 100g streaky bacon, cut into strips 250g baby truss tomatoes METHOD 1 Preheat the oven to 200C. 2 Combine the thyme, oregano, chilli, oil, garlic and lemon zest in a bowl. Add the chicken and turn to coat. Add the potatoes and toss to combine. Place on a large baking tray and scatter over the bacon strips. 3 Cut the zested lemon into wedges and add to the tray. Season and roast for 40 minutes or until chicken is golden and potatoes tender. Remove from the oven and top with tomatoes. Roast for a further 10-15 minutes until tomatoes are blistered. 4 Squeeze over roasted lemon juice to serve.

21.01.2022 BASIC CHICKEN & VEGE STIR FRY For a healthy weeknight meal, you can rely on this basic stir-fry with crunchy bean sprouts, tender chicken and tasty vegies. INGREDIENTS... 2 tablespoons peanut oil 3 Lilydale Free Range Chicken Breast, trimmed, cut across the grain into thin strips 1 brown onion, cut into thin wedges 1 red capsicum, deseeded, cut into thin strips 250g button mushrooms or mushroom caps, sliced 1 bunch broccolini, cut into 4cm lengths 2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely grated or chopped 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped fresh birdseye chillies, deseeded if desired, thinly sliced 2 tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce 1 tablespoon water 100g bean sprouts, to serve Coriander leaves, to serve Cooked white rice or noodles, to serve METHOD 1 Heat wok over high heat for about 1 minute .Add 1 tablespoon of the oil and swirl it around the wok to coat the entire cooking surface and heat for 30-60 seconds or until very hot. Add half the chicken strips and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes or until the chicken is sealed and just cooked through .Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside. Add about half the remaining peanut oil to the wok and repeat the process with the remaining chicken strips. 2 Add the remaining oil to the wok and heat over high heat until hot. Add the onion and capsicum and stir-fry for 2 minutes . 3 Add the mushrooms and broccolini and stir-fry for a further 2 minutes. Add the ginger, garlic and chillies. Season with salt and stir-fry for 1 minute or until aromatic. 4 Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce and water and toss for about 1 minute. Return the chicken to the wok and stir until the vegetables and chicken are coated with the sauces and the vegetables are tender crisp. 5Remove the wok from the heat, toss through the bean sprouts and coriander and serve the stir-fry immediately with cooked rice or noodles.

18.01.2022 Simple Berry Smoothie INGREDIENTS 100g frozen berries 1/2 frozen banana, chopped... 1/2 cup (95g) vanilla yoghurt 1/3 cup (80ml) skim milk 2 tbs raw muesli or rolled oats Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Optional: add honey to taste!

We are happy to report that they were impressed with our Covid-safe plan and with the cleaning & hygiene measures we have in place and deemed Plus Fitness Padstow to be Covid Safe!! A big thank you to the team (including our covid marshalls!!!) who are doing a great job at ensuring our gym is safe & hygienic for all our members. 04.01.2022 Have you tried out our new SkiErg machine??? Not only will you increase your heart rate quickly, but because it engages more muscles than other forms of cardio, you will burn more calories. When done properly, training on the SkiErg hits the lats, triceps, abdominals, pecs, biceps, quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves, and lower back.... The intensity varies with your effort: the harder you pull, the greater the intensity. Full squats and reverse lunges can be added to make the exercise more intense. Give it a try next time youre in club!!
03.01.2022 Introducing our new ATX squat block The idea behind elevating the heels when squatting is to place the ankle into plantar flexion whilst in a stable position; allowing the knees to travel further forward when squatting down. This will allow you to isolate your quads better. From there, the hips do not need to sit back as much, and a more upright torso position can be maintained. Another great reason to elevate your heels is if you have limited ankle mobility and find that y...ou arent able to get too deep into your squats. The ankles seem so far from the hips, but are in fact, crucial to squat depth! Try these out next time you are in club...youll find several floating around the gym!!
