03.01.2022 So the government has gone into stage 1 restrictions and the fitness industry has been hit hard. Gyms have shut their doors indefinitely and we are only at the ...beginning of not knowing how long this will be for. We have entered the unknown of the future for these businesses & their staff. I understand why, but not why only us? Why haven’t we gone into complete lockdown immediately and tackled this head on? Rather we are stringing it out and debilitating industries such as fitness and hospitality first, leaving them to bleed out. What will it take before the government realises the mixed messages it is sending, gyms no but shopping centres are okay? Who else has tried to do their normal shopping and have been shoulder to shoulder with other shoppers, with them touching every little thing. Hairdressers and beauticians are also okay where their services are based on being in very close proximity with their clients? I am not trying to single out, rather understand the reasoning as to why more drastic measures are not being taken?
