25.01.2022 Ahoy there! A heads upwe will be changing a drive cable on the Settlement Point Ferry on Thursday, 15 October between 9.30am and 12 noon. It is due for replacement at this month’s service, however, with recent high tides, strong wind and fast flowing water, the cable has stretched to a point where it has a high risk of breaking. The Hibbard Ferry will operate all day on Thursday to assist with getting traffic to/from North Shore. 22.01.2022 Flying highthe Aus Flight Handling team at Port Macquarie Airport returned to work this week, which is great news for local jobs and the economy! Having been on standby since Virgin Australia suspended services, the team are ready to take off and are preparing for the new Port Macquarie to Canberra direct service, launching on Sunday 1 November. Qantas has also doubled their flights to Sydney throughout the week, which are really positive signs for our community as we continue our recovery from the challenges that COVID has presented.

12.01.2022 Our cute Koala friends at Billabong Zoo wish to say a big thank you to our Sister City friends in Handa, Aichi in Japan. Earlier this year a cheque in the amount of $10k was presented by Mayor Pinson on behalf of the citizens of Handa City to Billabong Zoo and last week, the plaques matching this donation were unveiled. This money was funds raised by the citizens of Handa City to assist our region after they became aware of the significant impact on our flora and fauna during the 2019 bushfires. Billabong Zoo have committed this money to continue their existing koala-breeding program. in
