15.02.2022 You have probably seen the signs posted around Wittenoom regarding asbestos. The Asbestos Diseases Society have launched a campaign to educate the public on the dangers of asbestos and specifically in that area - see more here - https://youtu.be/u7aEOi1RKc0 This week is Asbestos Awareness week. Meta Maya Environmental has a long standing relationship with the Asbestos Diseases Association (ASDA), who provide support to people and their families who develop asbestos related illnesses. They are a wealth of information and their continual fundraising efforts support medical research and families in need.

02.02.2022 Meta Maya Services recently completed a project in the Midwest for an important client. MMS completed a Tank replacement at Wandanooka a small Aboriginal community in the Mid-West region of Western Australia, within the City of Greater Geraldton. Meta Maya Services successfully removed the old elevated tank and installed a 38kL Poly tank, 22kW generator, comms tower and associated infrastructure to ensure reliable water supply for the small community.

Lindsay has been with PMMRAC since its inception in 1994, he was a highly regarded and respected board member for 21 years and for many of us a close friend. 17.01.2022 Im sure youve heard me say it before - travelling around Western Australia is a world-class experience. From the unique landscapes of the Kimberley and Pilbar...a to the gourmet paradise of the South West, and everything in between, our State has so much to see and do. But, sadly, this just isnt the time for it. Weve made the extremely difficult and completely unprecedented decision to shut down travel between WAs regions. From midnight Tuesday, restrictions will be placed on travel within the entire State of Western Australia. Western Australians will not be permitted to leave their regional boundary. Its absolutely vital every Western Australian understands you cannot travel within WA. It must stop immediately. Police have the power to enforce these restrictions if necessary, and fines of up to $50,000 can be issued. To be clear, those are: the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and South West. Due to their proximity and interconnected nature, Perth and Peel will be treated as one region. The health and safety of people in regional Western Australia must be our priority. Exemptions will apply for, among other things, essential services and workers, including health and emergency services; people living in border communities, who may not have access to groceries or supplies within their region; employment purposes; medical reasons; transport of essential goods and some compassionate grounds. Additional restrictions to remote Aboriginal communities were announced by Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ben Wyatt this week, to provide extra protection to these vulnerable communities. If you are currently away from home - you need to come back. Now. If you were planning a trip - you cannot go. But I have one important request - dont cancel your bookings with our regional hotels, tours or other providers - postpone them instead. This wont last forever, so lets do what we can to make sure those businesses are still there once it is over. That next trip will just be so much sweeter.
