22.01.2022 CLAYFIELD CELEBRATES NAIDOC WEEK

15.01.2022 ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE: This year’s theme for NAIDOC Week recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for the Australian continent for more than 65,000 years. The PMSA is proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week acknowledging that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. NAIDOC 2020 invites ...all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded. #NAIDOC2020

10.01.2022 FINALLY A CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP GATHERING: Dodging storms and checking COVID-safety at every step, the Christian Fellowship groups from Somerville House, Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) and Clayfield College finally met on the weekend at Clayfield College for an evening of food, fun and Christian fellowship. There was great excitement and anticipation, as it was the first time in nine months that these groups were able to meet. Around 80 Years 7 11 students from the three sch...ools enjoyed a pizza dinner hosted by Clayfield College, followed by devotions and singing led by the newly-installed BBC ISCF student leaders. Schools were mixed and divided into teams for an energetic round-robin competition of Volleyball, King of the Court style. Competition was fierce, energy levels ebbed and flowed, and a final play-off between the winning teams on each court produced a winner. Hand-sanitiser was in abundance, and the balls were sanitised after every rally. In this strange COVID year, it was great to be able to resume this valued part of our Christian fellowship program. These activities, usually held once a term, provide a great opportunity for us to fulfil our goals of encouraging each other in faith, challenging each other to follow Jesus closely and share his love with others. #4gr8schools #pmsaschools #christianfellowship

04.01.2022 BEST OF LUCK TO 2020 SENIORS: Students across our schools today commence their final exams for the year - the first external exams in 50 years in Queensland. As we wish our Year 12s and all of our students and staff the best for their important exams at the end of this challenging year, we reflect and give thanks to God in prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us to make it through this difficult year. Thank you that you’ve carried us through the uncertainty of deep waters, through the flames of trials, and through the pain of hard losses. We are constantly aware of how much we need you, your grace, your strength, your power working through even the toughest days. Amen

02.01.2022 YOU'RE A STAR - WORLD TEACHERS' DAY: Celebrating World Teachers' Day in Queensland on 30 October, the PMSA would like to say a very big thank you to all our staff across our four outstanding schools. 2020 has been a difficult year, and we'd like to thank ALL our staff for their dedication, passion and commitment to their school and to the PMSA Group. Although there wasn't the usual large gatherings to celebrate this year, staff were given a small (and yummy) token of apprec...iation. "I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds." Psalm 9:1 #WorldTeachersDay2020 #4gr8schools #staffappreciation
