21.01.2022 Teaching children to learn letters and numbers does not always require a pencil or other writing tool. Why not encourage them to tracing the Alphabet with Cotton Swab Painting? Definitely, all kids will love the idea that involves painting and learning at the same time. All you need to set this up for your preschool-aged child is a piece of paper, paint with multiple colours, a marker or pen, and a cotton swab. Then, write the letters of the alphabet on the piece... of paper. This lady was dotting along each letter, but if your kiddo is ready to trace each letter, why not let them tracing all the letters, practicing their pre-writing skills. In both cases, they gonna be super proud of their artwork . #portmelbournetoylibrary #learningthroughplay #selfisolationplayideas #homeplayideas #lockdownplayideas #coronavirus #tracingletters

02.01.2022 Today our Home Play Ideas goes far away into space . Incorporating learning with building a spaceship is a great option for the future astronauts. What you will’ll need: * A4 paper in a variety of colours * Star and moon stickers... * Glue * Scissors * Marker This Alphabet Spaceships craft is great for helping your preschooler with their fine motor skills. Cutting with scissors , gluing, writing letters and placing the shapes in order will keep them busy. If your child isn’t quite ready to use scissors then you can cut out the shapes for them. You will need squares in an array of colours one for each letter of their name. You will also need a triangle for the top of the rocket ship and strips for the flames . Pull out a sheet of black or blue construction paper. Have the kids glue the letters of their name in order down the centre of the page. Have them use the glue right on the main paper and place the shapes on top of it to really see what they are doing. Once complete, ask them to add the top of the rocket and the flames bursting from the bottom! Now it’s time to add those star and the moon stickers to make it look like in space. Let them fly to the moon . #portmelbournetoylibrary #learningthroughplay #homeplayideas #selfisolationplayideas #lockdownplayideas #coronavirus #alphabetlearningforkids
