15.01.2022 Talk about a recovery! (swipe left for Lolly’s eye injury *warning, some people may find the images graphic) . 4 months ago I rocked up to my client’s farm to find one of their loved chooks had been attacked by the others, resulting in horrible injuries. Particularly to Lolly’s right eye. . I rushed Lolly to the Avian Specialist at Sugarloaf Animal Hospital where they treated her and gave me a care plan to follow which involved oral and topical treatment 5-7 times a day, ke...eping me busy, but also keeping Lolly alive . 4 months later and Lolly is looking like an absolute trooper and I pretty much cried when I saw how healthy she was! . Lolly’s family did an amazing job of continuing her care plan and reintegrating Lolly to the flock... well... now she’s the boss of all the Silkies because her sisters wouldn’t take her back, but she’s totally ok with that! . Hats off to Lolly’s family who have given her so much love and care since they returned home and hats off to Lolly for being such a trooper and lover of life! . Sometimes working with animals breaks your heart, but there are so many magical moments too - This has got to be one of the best moments, knowing how close Lolly was to losing an eye and potentially her life .
