25.01.2022 Zoltina-J, our legendary Corporate Entertainment Director, is a proud member of the P&O Cruises family. And today, as the world celebrates the international Day of the Seafarer, Zoltina-J wants to thank you for supporting her onboard family as efforts continue to reunite more of them with their shoreside families and friends. This years day to honour seafarers is a tribute to their strength and resilience in the face of pandemic. As Zoltina-J says, it has been a tough time but, as she also explains, our multi-national P&O family has been inspiring in getting to know each other so much better but also as theyve supported each other, just as families do. Now back in Australia, Zoltina-J speaks here of her love for her onboard family
25.01.2022 We may not be sailing to Conflict Islands in Papua New Guinea right now but we wanted to let you know of some of the amazing work underway on the islands to look after endangered turtles. Conflict Islands in Papua New Guinea is one of the most beautiful places on the planet with its white sand and clear blue water. And each year green and hawksbill turtles lay their eggs on the Islands’ beaches. Nesting season for the green turtles began this month but one mother arrive...d a little early to lay her eggs and more than 30 babies were born out-of-season. Conservation ranger, Steven, helped the babies survive by relocating the nest to the island’s turtle sanctuary, which houses sea turtle hatchlings until they're ready to be released back into the wild. The hatchery is supported by the P&O Pacific Partnership through your valuable $1 donations. Turtle nesting season runs through to January, which is a busy time for the Conflict Islands Conservation Trust team who are focussed on protecting the sea turtles found in the Coral Sea. You can learn more about the Trust by visiting https://www.cici.org.au/ and can even donate directly if you choose. We can't get enough of these adorable baby turtles!
23.01.2022 Vanuatu is celebrating 40 years of independence this month and as part of the celebrations were tonight launching a series of short films on some of the amazing and strong women who are role models in the community in 2020. Women like the countrys first female paramedic Judy Willie who is station manager at community ambulance service, ProMedical, as well as international athlete Miller Patta from the medal winning womens Vanuatu Beach Volleyball team. We also learn ...more about Adela Issachur Aru, who is the Chief Executive of the Vanuatu Tourism Office, holding a senior and demanding role in the community. P&O Cruises commissioned 10 profiles of some of these amazing women, called Strong Women of Vanuatu, to give to the Vanuatu Government to celebrate the achievement of women across all walks of life in Vanuatu. The series is being launched in Port Vila tonight before going on a travelling roadshow around the country, including to areas affected by the cyclone. It will be broadcast live on Vanuatu TV and you can also tune in to watch it live here: https://www.facebook.com/vbtc.vu/videos/277601133663147/ The short films and roadshow has been jointly funded by P&O as well as you, our loyal guests, through your valuable donations to the P&O Pacific Partnership program. Thank you for joining us to celebrate the fantastic achievements of these inspiring women

21.01.2022 Hi everyone, Happy New Year to you all! Here is a message from our President Sture Myrmell.
20.01.2022 Good Morning Cruiselings, this is your Captain speaking Its nearly time for you to disembark the wonderful Pacific Explorer. Thank you for joining us on our inaugural four-night virtual cruise to Moreton Island. We hope you have enjoyed the virtual short break highlights as much as we have loved sharing them with you. This first virtual cruise project and your reaction to it has inspired us to do even more, to be even more engaging with the virtual cruise experience. So, we... are going to look at the technical solutions that could allow us to replicate a cruise in a continuous experience from sail away to arrival home. It won’t be easy with our ships currently paused but we thank everyone for their support as we all work together to achieve what we like to call the cruising state of mind while we await the green light for our ships to sail again from Australia Love this? 20.01.2022 Did you know that today is World Chocolate Day? We want to thank Vanuatu's home grown Aelan Chocolate, for bringing its rich and uniquely flavoured dark chocolate onto P&O's dessert menus. Maybe you've tasted the delicious exotically flavoured Chocolate Grand Mariner Torte served at the Waterfront Restaurants? The dessert incorporates the Vanuatu produced chocolate along with a rich chocolate sauce flowing over it. Its a huge accolade to be part of P&O's supply chain and on...ly the best can make it. The quality and standards set by Aelan Chocolate are extremely high and we couldn't be prouder to have the Vanuatu master chocolatiers as an official supplier to our fleet. We can't wait to indulge in the celebrated dark chocolate onboard our ships again. In the meantime, here's a look at our friends at Aelan Chocolate in action.
19.01.2022 With a fantastic career at sea helping to make cruising a special treat for our guests, it’s only right that one of our favourite crew members should enjoy a similar experience of being spoilt on her birthday. P&O Cruises’ Hotel Director Jane Herron, back home in the UK after an unusual extended contract, returned in time to celebrate her birthday in style with a very special afternoon tea at the iconic Ritz Hotel in London. Jane was home from the sea after months spent onbo...ard Pacific Explorer during this pause in operations. And after all her hard work, it was fitting that Jane celebrated her birthday with a slice of one of the finest British traditions in Mayfair, in the heart of London. Joined by her sister Rachel, the two ladies took the opportunity to dress up and raise a toast over a glass of champagne accompanied by cucumber sandwiches, scones and cakes made even more special by a fantastic English summer’s day. We spoke with Jane to get the highlights of her trip: What an amazing experience as soon as you walk through the door you are propelled into another world. Everyone sitting there in their finery from the minute you sit down, Jane said. The staff swiftly serve fresh tea, champagne, never-ending sandwiches, scones and cakes. The ambience and decor is amazing. It is such a fantastic experience. After we finished our afternoon tea we went into one of The Ritz’s beautiful lounges and had one of their signature champagne cocktails that contains real gold leaf. We also took in the opportunity to visit some other sites of London, Buckingham Palace, Pall Mall, Nelson’s column and Harrods. It certainly sounds like a great weekend. Cheers to you Jane!
19.01.2022 Calling all fans of the 1980s It's time to kick back with a drink and listen to the smooth sounds of Eric Weideman from 1927 who has gifted P&O fans with an acoustic cover of his song, If I could. We will continue to take you back to one of the greatest decades ever with our P&O 80s Cruise @ Home. ... Look out for 80s trivia with Zoltina J at 7pm tomorrow night!

We are proud to have 2800 crew members in the P&O family and today we want to salute each and every one.... Here is a reminder of just a small handful of their smiling faces Are there any P&O crew members that made your holiday extra special? Let us know in the comments below
18.01.2022 Hi everyone, Pacific Encounter might still be some months away from joining the P&O Cruises fleet but, as you can see from this special Christmas video that the crew has made, the P&O spirit is already flourishing onboard. And what better way to convey the P&O spirit than at Christmas time. Thank you to cruise director Joanna Dyson for hosting this uplifting video and to her colleague David Schueren for his work behind the camera and at the editing table. Joanna has capture...d both the spirit of the season and P&O’s determined fight back from the challenges of 2020 with this magnificent never-give-in comment: The comeback is always stronger than the setback. Thanks Joanna that’s the positive sentiment we will all be adopting in 2021 as we look forward to better days ahead and cruising with you and the team on Pacific Encounter.
18.01.2022 There isn’t a dry eye anywhere here today as we prepare to farewell Pacific Dawn which for so many years has been the mainstay of our fleet. And we can see from the sentiments expressed in your posts that you’re feeling the same way. Pacific Dawn has been the beating heart of P&O Cruises and our cruising ‘backyard’ for 13 years and she has been involved in so many adventures and community activities across the South Pacific and Papua New Guinea. It’s hard to believe it’s al...most a year to the day since Pacific Dawn and her magnificent crew plucked three stranded sailors from a life raft off New Caledonia after they had been forced to abandon their ocean going cruiser after hitting a discarded mooring line during the night. Seasoned Newcastle sailors, cousins Chris and Kevin Doran and Vanuatu resident Ben Johnson, will no doubt today be reviving their fond memories of Pacific Dawn, Captain Alan Dockeray and his able crew who saved their lives at sea. Thank you for telling us of your love for Pacific Dawn following yesterday’s announcement that she will be leaving P&O. We will be posting more fond memories of this grand ship in the days ahead.
17.01.2022 Tonight, we are continuing to share the very best in 1980's themed entertainment with a special performance from the hit band Eurogliders Grace and Bernie have treated us to an exclusive recording of their smash hit 'Heaven' so you can rock out and experience our 80s Cruise @ Home! Keep an eye out for more 80s Facebook fun his week!
17.01.2022 We're back with another Pacific Dawn tribute Did you know that Pacific Dawn was the first ship in P&O's fleet to visit the stunning destination of Papua New Guinea? Almost seven years ago on 31 October 2013, Pacific Dawn sailed from Brisbane to Papua New Guinea for the very first time. It was a nine-night cruise which called at Townsville, Alotau, Kiriwina Island, Kawanasausau, Milne Bay and Doini Island.... During her time spent in P&O's fleet, Pacific Dawn transported over 20,000 P&O guests on 11 different itineraries to PNG Who else has had a memorable holiday onboard Pacific Dawn to the South Pacific?

17.01.2022 Today is Remembrance Day when we honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of freedom. It marks the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when the guns finally fell silent on the Western Front bringing the Great War to a close in 1918. We remember with the help of this Flanders Poppy image displayed today on the big screen of our beautiful Pacific Explorer. Remembrance Day also honours those who have served their nation in the confli...cts that have followed what was once thought would be the war to end all wars. While we benefit from the peace that earlier generations fought to preserve, we are currently living through a difficult time as the world battles a once in a century pandemic. As challenging as the current situation might be, we can take heart and perspective from what our forebears endured and rose above to create a safer world for their children and grandchildren. Their example of resilience and fortitude is there for all of us to follow to the better days that we know lie ahead. LEST WE FORGET.
17.01.2022 Hi everyone, we would like to provide an update on sailings scheduled to depart New Zealand during March and April 2021. The start of a new year brings renewed optimism and confidence but at the same time, it is important to remain realistic about the more immediate future. With this in mind, we have decided to extend our rolling pause in operations from New Zealand to departures on and before 25 April, 2021. We know that much better days lie ahead and we remain positive ab...out the resumption of cruising when the time is right. While we’ve paused operations, we will continue to work with the wider industry and plan for cruising’s return. As we work towards this goal, we wanted to provide our Kiwi guests with as much certainty as possible and flexibility around their 2021 bookings and an opportunity to reschedule their cruise holiday for 2022 or beyond. We apologise if your booking is affected and we will be in touch with you directly to make alternative arrangements. Thank you for your loyalty to P&O during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back onboard when it is safe to do so.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, today we take a fond look back at one of our much-loved comedians, Mark Trevorrow. You know Mark well as his side-splittingly funny high camp persona Bob Downe. Like us, Mark is just counting the days until we can cruise again and misses all of his Sit Down Comedy Club colleagues who we regularly see on board. It’s not just Mark's love of comedy which makes him fond of cruising the high seas. In April 2017, Mark and his partner, Stefan, renewed their wedding vows... during a fabulous ceremony onboard Pacific Jewel along with 80 family and friends who had booked to come on a comedy cruise with them. The ceremony was made even more special with Mark’s cousin-in-law, Kathy Coutts, acting as the celebrant. Kathy has known Mark since he was nine years old. The two bridesmaids, flamboyant drag queens Cindy Pastel and Maude Boate, are good friends of Mark and Stefan. Mark is about to tour a new show for the first time in six years. And while we wait to again enjoy Bob Downe’s rapid fire humour onboard our ships, here's a video of Mark Stefan’s very special renewal of vows ceremony on Pacific Jewel
16.01.2022 Hi everyone, it’s Sture Myrmell, President P&O Cruises Australia, here. I have some important news about our fleet transformation, which I know our many loyal P&O guests will find exciting. I am pleased to let you that know that Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter will arrive in the first half of 2021 in a mark of confidence in the expected rebound of the local cruise industry. Pacific Adventure is planned to begin sailing from Sydney on April 30 next year and the delive...ry of Pacific Encounter is brought forward by at least six months. Pacific Encounter is scheduled to call Brisbane home from May 7, 2021 but additional voyages may be added even earlier, depending on the timing of the return of cruising in Australia. The sister ships will sail alongside P&O’s current flagship, Pacific Explorer, which will extend its operational pause until January next year. So that families can make their plans for the Christmas and New Year holiday period with certainty, I also need to let you know that the changes affect those cruises for Pacific Explorer and Pacific Adventure during this period. The official suspension of cruising in Australia extends to December 17 so the pathway to the resumption of cruising in Australia still remains unclear. I am sorry for any inconvenience resulting from these cancellations. We will contact guests whose bookings are affected. Thank you again everyone for your support and passion for P&O Cruises Australia. Today’s announcement regarding our fleet transformation confirms P&O certainly will be back. We look forward to the time when we can welcome you onboard our three-ship fleet of Pacific Adventure, Pacific Encounter and Pacific Explorer.

14.01.2022 Today we celebrate our many suppliers for their steadfast loyalty as we work to resume cruising. They’re the behind-the-scenes people who help deliver the magic of cruising. We’re thinking of Graeme Blackman and Ross DiBartolo at marine engineering firm Inter-Marine in Sydney who do amazing work during P&O Cruises’ ship drydocks and make our big events so special like crafting gigantic Australian flags for Pacific Sun to mark our epic Australia Day cruises in Sydney Harbour.... During the pause, Graeme and Ross have weathered an 80 per cent fall in business activity and they’ve had to let loyal employees go. Graeme and Ross tell their story in this video. We’re also thinking of our good friend ‘Sharpey’, otherwise known as John Sharpe, whose Brisbane-based adventure company is the driving force behind the exciting P&OEdge activities on our ships. John had to borrow nearly a million dollars to help his energetic company survive the pandemic. Standing by our suppliers is among the reasons we’re backing our industry association’s ReadySetSail campaign to achieve a safe pathway to the restart of cruising. The campaign by Cruise Lines International Association Australasia is also a chance for you to have your say to safely restore cruise holidays www.ReadySetSail.com.au.
14.01.2022 What does it take to transform a ship to join the P&O Cruises Australia fleet? Just about everything if Pacific Encounter’s recent dry dock transformation is anything to go by. So many people and so many projects in so many parts of the ship. How is this for a roll call of statistics to tell the story of the beautiful Pacific Encounter - 50 containers of material of many kinds - Hundreds of contractors from four continents to carry out the transformation - 5,000 square me...tres of area refurbished - 3,000 square metres plus of wall coverings - 10,000 square metres of carpet - 8,000 square metres of colourful fabrics - 3,500 square metres of artificial turf And all of this amazing work carried out in just a matter of a few weeks. What a team! Pacific Encounter is sparkling after the transformation team swept through The Pantry, Waterfront, Angelo’s and Dragon Lady restaurants, the Atrium, the Bonded Store and the Marquee theatre lobby, and that’s only a taste of what’s to come. You’ll be out of breath thinking about all of that so, until we get to see Pacific Encounter in person, feast on these images
13.01.2022 We'd like to bring you the latest on P&O's operations from our President Sture Myrmell: Hi everyone, we wanted to update you on our cruises scheduled to depart from September 17 this year. In response to the current impact of the global pandemic on the way we travel and holiday, it has become necessary to extend our pause in operations across Australia and New Zealand to and including October 29, 2020. The path to society reopening fully is continuing to evolve and it has bec...ome clear more time is needed to reinstate many modes of travel and community gatherings, including cruise holidays. We share your disappointment in this news and apologise for the disruption to travel plans. Our team will make direct contact with all guests whose cruises have been affected to let them know of this development. This is by far the most challenging time the travel sector has ever experienced. We look forward to better times ahead when we can cruise again, and in the meantime, I want to thank you all for your loyalty, patience and goodwill.
12.01.2022 P&O Cruises’ Hotel Director Louisa Jane Grasty is proof that caring is second nature for our onboard teams even when they are temporarily not in a position to care for our guests. Lately, Louisa has been devoting a lot of her time to sewing 'scrubs' in support of the National Health Service's frontline workers in the UK. During lockdown, Louisa taught herself to sew and wanted to do something for the NHS so joined a group called ‘For the Love of Scrubs’ where she started mak...ing scrub bags and progressed to scrub hats and then actual scrubs. She wanted to do something with the scraps so started making soft toys out of the scrub fabric. Louisa tells us the whale is her favourite! This then moved into making homemade nautical flags and then she came up with the idea to double up the flags and make a quilt!

12.01.2022 Here is a message from P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell on our operations from Australia: Hi everyone, I wanted to provide you with an update on our future sailings. From today, we will be extending our rolling pause in operations on cruises from Australia to 2 December, 2020 as we continue to take guidance from authorities, public health experts and society on restarting sailing. We appreciate our guests loyalty and patience and, like you, remain hopeful that the start ...of summer brings new opportunities for the entire travel and tourism industry, which contributes so much to economies around Australia and across our Pacific region. In the meantime, we have also extended our flexible payment and cancellation policy - P&O Assurance even further to the end of next years summer holidays (31 January, 2021) to give you more peace-of-mind in booking your next cruise holiday. We will notify you directly if your cruise is affected by this pause. You will have the option to choose from a full refund, a future cruise credit and, on select cruises, can even opt to move your booking to the same time next year. Once again, I want to thank all of our guests for their passion for cruising. We look forward to seeing you back onboard when the time comes for us to cruise again.

12.01.2022 Merry Christmas! We hope you had a lovely day and an opportunity to celebrate with friends and family. Sadly, this Christmas we couldn’t visit our dear friends in the Pacific Islands or continue the decade long tradition of our crews delivering toys to children in island communities.... In other years, the jolly man in the big red suit, accompanied by a retinue of crew, arrived with toys purchased by guests through the P&O Pacific Partnership program dollar-matched by P&O to double the fun. This Christmas Day tradition is a sign of P&O’s close bond with island communities, which have been a big part of our 88 years of cruising. It reflects the warmth of the relationship highlighted by the ongoing activities of the Partnership, which year-round ensures that island communities can share in the benefits of cruising. We look forward to bringing smiles to children's faces during next year's holiday season cruises. In the meantime, we send all of our love to our friends in the Pacific Islands.

11.01.2022 P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell would like to share an update on our operations from Australia: You might have already heard that the Australian Government has announced a three month extension to the suspension of cruising taking the date to 17 December. P&Os focus remains on the resumption of cruising knowing so many of you are keen to cruise again with Australias home brand cruise line when the time is right and public health safeguards are in place. ... We have aligned our own pause in operations with the Governments date and will be in contact with guests whose bookings might be affected in the short overlapping period. As you know we recently announced a pause until 2 December. If your cruise has been affected, our team will make contact with you, either directly or via the appointed travel agent. As we now align our pause with the Governments 17 December date, we remain optimistic that cruising will ultimately resume as better days return following the COVID-19 fight.

10.01.2022 It was a homecoming full of emotion and excitement as our Ni Vanuatu crew finally came home. Families and friends cheered and waved joyfully as the 126 Ni Vanuatu crew members made their way through Port Vila streets in a motorcade having just arrived on a special airlift from Manila. They were set to begin a compulsory 14-day quarantine as international arrivals but now they knew they were home! And their families knew they would soon be reunited after being apart for so lon...g. All of our crew are much loved and our Ni Vanuatu crew have an additional distinction. P&O Cruises is the only cruise line in the world that employs Ni Vanuatu crew and it was an honour to work with the Vanuatu Government to bring them home. And as their colleagues on Pacific Explorer, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria can confirm, their Ni Vanuatu colleagues did their bit to keep spirits high as the crew repatriation operation continues. Progress is being made and we wont rest until we get our people home. See more

09.01.2022 There are so many Pacific Dawn highlights to share, particularly during the time she spent cruising out of Brisbane which provided guests with so many heart warming memories. As we take a look back down memory lane, we wanted to remind ourselves of another Pacific Dawn success story. It was this time last year when Gold Coast singing star Ricki-Lee was onboard Pacific Dawn where she performed the remastered classic state anthem, ‘Love You Queensland’, 30 years after its firs...t release. ARIA nominated singer-songwriter Ricki-Lee took to the stage at Pacific Dawn's Promenade Bar before the new version was played to more than 2000 guests as the ship departed on a four-night cruise to the Whitsunday Islands. We couldn't think of a more fitting way to end the working week, by transporting ourselves to Pacific Dawn's Sailaway Party and imagining a celebration of singing and dancing with friends and family on the top deck as the ship leaves port. Happy listening and happy Friday!
09.01.2022 Hi everyone, we have some important news today regarding the P&O Cruises Australia fleet. We wanted to let you know that our beautiful Pacific Dawn will be leaving us in the coming weeks. It’s always sad to say farewell to a much loved ship and in this respect Pacific Dawn is in a class of her own. When she sailed into our hearts in November 2007, Pacific Dawn became Australia’s first superliner and the catalyst for the resurgence of cruising in Australia. Sydney Olympic gol...d medal hero Catherine Freeman honoured Pacific Dawn as her godmother. In her 13 years with P&O, Pacific Dawn carried an astonishing 1.2 million guests and sailed 2.2 million kilometres the equivalent of nearly three times to the moon and back or 56 times around the Equator. Even more importantly, she introduced so many of you to cruising. As you know, it was originally planned for Pacific Dawn to leave us in February next year but this has now been brought forward to facilitate the sale we’ve announced today. Please accept our apologies if you have bookings that have been affected. We will be in touch with you soon regarding cancellation arrangements. In the meantime, together we can look forward to wonderful days ahead as Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter are introduced to the fleet. For now, we salute you Pacific Dawn.
09.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a P&O Cruise Director? In the latest episode of YouTube chat show Cruise Lounge, presenter Tim Faircloth sits down with our very own Zoltina- J to talk about her amazing life at sea, her career journey and what happens behind the scenes onboard a P&O cruise! What an incredible 20 year career journey Zoltina-J, Cruise Director has had and we feel so lucky to have her on our team! Enjoy!
09.01.2022 Get ready Cruiselings! Today, we have an exciting announcement from our very own Corporate Entertainment Director, Zoltina-J. For the month of July, were going to be sharing highlights from our onboard entertainment to all of you, our loyal guests, at home. Whilst were not sailing together right now, we wanted to deliver the very best of P&Os onboard experiences in a new virtual format.... Keep your eyes peeled for trivia, music, comedy, games and even a whole week dedicated to our 1980s Tribute Cruise! Stay tuned to this page for more updates on what you can see and when. We cant wait to entertain you!
08.01.2022 We know how much you miss cruising but we can also tell you how much our onboard teams miss you. Cruise director Kirsty Fraser is missing her onboard life ‘like you wouldn’t believe.’ Kirsty is always in touch with the beating heart of our ships including hosting our onboard Anzac Day services. Cruising has been my life for almost 20 years now and to be away from it for so long is heartbreaking, Kirsty tells us from her home in the UK. I miss our guests, I miss my ship fa...mily, I miss it all. Now, as optimism grows for the restart of cruising, our onboard teams are starting to think of how they will feel when they first walk back onto a P&O ship. Says Kirsty: I know I will probably shed a few tears when I get back onboard, I know I can't wait to hold that microphone in my hand again and say, 'this is your cruise director Kirsty'. That first cruise back is going to be electric, the buzz will be something to remember. Our guests are our family and I have missed them immensely let that day hurry up and get here. What a joyful guest and crew reunion that will be!
08.01.2022 Hi everyone, here’s some more news as we continue our fleet transformation at P&O Cruises Australia. Together, we have much to look forward to in welcoming Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter. But sadly, that also means farewelling some firm favourites in the meantime. As with Pacific Dawn recently, Pacific Aria’s departure has been brought forward. While Aria might have been with us for just five years, what a legacy she leaves after sailing into our hearts in November... 2015. Who could forget her P&O debut sailing into Sydney Harbour in the spectacular five-ship sail-in? During her P&O career, Pacific Aria sailed more than 450,000 nautical miles with P&O enabling thousands of Australian and New Zealand guests to discover the South Pacific. It is sad that current circumstances prevented a final cruise with some of Aria’s P&O loyalists on board. We will be in touch directly with all Pacific Aria guests whose bookings are affected and apologise for any disruption. We loved your memories of the beautiful Pacific Dawn. Please share your memories of Pacific Aria. We would love to see them!
08.01.2022 Hi everyone, we would like to provide an update from P&O Cruises Australia President Sture Myrmell on our current operational pause. At P&O Cruises we remain optimistic about the ultimate restart of cruising while in the meantime, we are taking a practical approach in extending our current operational pause to departures on or before 18 June, 2021. We also want to give those guests with bookings affected by the pause extension as much notice as possible to provide them with ...greater certainty around their holiday plans. Our team will make contact with guests whose cruises have been affected, either directly or via their appointed travel agent, to let them know of the pause extension and the options available to them. Once again, thank you not only for your patience and understanding throughout this challenging time but also for your unwavering loyalty to P&O Cruises. It is very much appreciated by all of us at P&O. We are so looking forward to welcoming you onboard our beautiful ships once again.

08.01.2022 Here is an update from P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell: We wanted to let you know that P&O Cruises has extended the rolling pause in cruise operations in Australia to September 17, 2020. This is in response to the Australian Governments approach to managing the resumption of international cruising in our region. Australia and New Zealand have so far excelled in flattening the COVID-19 curve and governments in both countries have outlined a multi-phased approach to reope...ning society including how we travel and holiday. With this in mind, we have reviewed the current end date of our voluntary pause in cruise operations. We will make direct contact with guests whose cruises are affected by the amended date to let them know of this development and to apologise for the disruption. These guests can reschedule their cruise at a later date with the added bonus of onboard credit or obtain a full refund. As the pause continues, we will continue to develop additional protocols and procedures to keep you safe when the time is right to resume sailing and people again feel comfortable to gather. As always, our highest priority is the safety and the health and well-being of our guests, crew and the communities we visit. Thank you again for your unswerving loyalty, patience and goodwill during this time of uncertainty. This is the most challenging period that the travel sector has experienced but, like so many of you, we are determined to cruise again. And when that happens, it will be people who know what P&O has to offer who will return to cruising as their number one holiday choice.

06.01.2022 We wanted to share with you the story of Vanuatus first female paramedic, Judy Willie, who is one of the amazing women featured in the new video series Strong Women of Vanuatu. Judy is a station manager at ProMedical ambulance service in Vila and is at the front-line of providing lifesaving care in her community. P&O Cruises has strong links with Promedical Vanuatu. Through your generous $1 donations to the P&O Pacific Partnership program, we have been supporting the par...amedic training of seven students, including two young women, who are all following in Judys footsteps to make a difference in their community. P&O Cruises and the P&O Pacific Partnership program jointly funded the Strong Women of Vanuatu series to profile 10 inspiring women who are the backbone of the community. The series was launched by Vanuatus Prime Minister Bob Loughman at a special community event in Vila this month attended by Australias High Commissioner to Vanuatu, Ms Sarah de Zoeten. Two of our ni-Vanuatu crew handed over the video series to the Prime Minister as our gift to Vanuatu in celebration of its 40 years of independence. The series is currently on tour across the country so people can watch and be inspired by Judys spirit, strength and resilience.
06.01.2022 P&O Cruises’ President Sture Myrmell would like to share an update on our operations from Australia: You might have already heard that the Australian Government has announced a three month extension to the suspension of cruising taking the date to 17 December. P&O’s focus remains on the resumption of cruising knowing so many of you are keen to cruise again with Australia’s home brand cruise line when the time is right and public health safeguards are in place. ... We have aligned our own pause in operations with the Government’s date and will be in contact with guests whose bookings might be affected in the short overlapping period. As you know we recently announced a pause until 2 December. If your cruise has been affected, our team will make contact with you, either directly or via the appointed travel agent. As we now align our pause with the Government’s 17 December date, we remain optimistic that cruising will ultimately resume as better days return following the COVID-19 fight.
06.01.2022 Thank you Cruiselings! Your valuable $1 donations to the P&O Pacific Partnership program are continuing to make a huge difference to the lives of the communities which have been so warmly welcoming us for many years. With your contributions, mum’s like Melanie have been able to access vital nutrition workshops to transform the health of the whole family. And strong people like Veaselive have been able to rebuild their homes following Vanuatu’s devastating Cyclone Harold. ... On behalf of the people of the South Pacific, and everyone at P&O, thank you for your continued generosity.
06.01.2022 Happy Cup Day Cruiselings! We're taking a look back at last year's festivities, when P&O Cruises celebrated 50 years of sailing to the Melbourne Cup and marked the occasion with Australian model and media personality Fiona Falkiner leading the ‘Fashion at Sea’ glamour on flagship Pacific Explorer. With Pacific Explorer sailing from Sydney and Pacific Dawn sailing from Brisbane, P&O brought 3500 racing and fashion fans to Melbourne for the Cup and boy, did everyone have f...un! There was a jam-packed lineup of Melbourne Cup-themed activities onboard including ‘The Voice of the Cup’ Greg Miles, jockey John Letts with two Melbourne Cup winning rides to his credit, plus the headpiece workshop hosted by Melbourne’s finest Milliner, Kim Fletcher Millinery. We wanted to share this video as a reminder of Melbourne Cup 2019, when everyone who sailed with P&O was a winner! And, whilst we might not be sailing to the event this year, check out future P&O cruises to the cup at https://bit.ly/35S8MIy. 06.01.2022 At this time of year our corporate executive chef Uwe Stiefel would be making one of his regular pre-dawn pilgrimages to the bustling Sydney Markets. In addition to being an exciting experience with an amazing choreography of forklift vehicles scurrying here there and everywhere carrying produce, Uwes visits are always a reminder that we live in a lucky country where the highest quality produce is grown. Uwe also gets to meet many of the suppliers who kept natures bounty on track for loading on our ships. There are hundreds of suppliers who benefit and we look forward to the day when hundreds of pallets of produce and other supplier are again being loaded on our ships to help make the cruising experience one of carefree dining and enjoying fine wines. In the meantime we can reminisce with this video of one of Uwes market visits.

05.01.2022 As we prepare to resume cruising with the return of better days, we look forward to when our ships and guests can again visit beautiful Vanuatu to be greeted by wonderful island communities. In the meantime, it is good to know your contributions to the P&O Pacific Partnership continue to work their magic. Already this year, you’ve helped the Olympic qualifying Vanuatu Women’s Beach Volleyball team with its own gymnasium. As you can see, your one dollar contributions are goin...g a long way! The Tokyo Olympics might have been off the agenda this year but the new purpose-built gym is enabling the team to train for international championships down the track. Vanuatu is so proud of this wonderful team of role models, and so are we. They’ve inspired the entire nation and made beach volleyball hugely popular. To see why, check out this video showing the team at picturesque Champagne Bay. The Vanuatu Women’s Beach Volleyball team created it to say thank you to the P&O Pacific Partnership, and to you. Go team Vanuatu!
04.01.2022 This is a beautiful story of one couple's love and devotion for each other and we are proud that P&O Cruises played a part in their lifelong romance. In their 70 years together, Kate and Alan 'Ned' Kelly sailed with P&O here and in the UK on more than one hundred cruises and loved them all. And our onboard teams loved Kate and Ned in return. When Kate sadly passed away recently in her 90th year leaving Ned grief stricken, the notice for the celebration of her life listed P&O... as one of her homes. Photos on the wall of their unit tell the story of their cruise adventures together. "We enjoyed our cruises very much," Ned said. "We did 80 to 90 cruises with P&O in Australia and the others with P&O in the UK. "We did some of the trips in England early on and we have always been loyal to P&O because my father had worked on their ships in the UK. The P&O ships have been our second home and we enjoyed it so much. The crew often told us that we were part of the family." Ned is doing his best to get on with life but concedes he is not doing well without his darling Kate by his side. We sent Ned some flowers to honour Kate and to thank them both for their devotion to P&O. Ned asked if one day he might be able to cruise again. "You have to have a dream," he said. Thank you Kate and Ned.
04.01.2022 We love how many of our Cruiselings are recreating their favourite onboard moments at home. Two of our Adventurers, Ed and Patrea, have been going above and beyond and dreaming up songs about what they miss most about sailing With the help of a banjo and a cocktail or two, the Queenslanders have dreamed up a rhyme about their favourite 'cruise things.' It was so good that Cruise Critic wanted to use it in their new video called 'Why We Can't Wait to Sail Again.' Thank you ...Ed and Patrea. Keep the good times going! 02.01.2022 Hi everyone, it has been great to see promising news that everyday life could return to normal before too long, or at least something very close to it. However, as good as the news might be, we can’t afford to get ahead of ourselves knowing that cruising will resume when the time is right for this to happen. So, today we want to update you on Pacific Explorer’s sailings scheduled for early in the New Year. As you know, cruising in Australia is paused until 17 December with ...the likelihood of a further review in coming weeks. In anticipation, we are extending Pacific Explorer’s pause until 2 February 2021. We apologise if your booking is affected and we will be in touch with you with alternative arrangements. As confidence grows of better days ahead, we can look forward to again welcoming guests onboard. Thank you for your understanding during this period of uncertainty. In the meantime, we thought it would be great to recall Pacific Explorer’s maiden voyage from Sydney when she sailed gracefully under the Harbour Bridge. Better times and good times do lie ahead.
02.01.2022 Here is a message from P&O Cruises’ President Sture Myrmell on our operations from Australia: Hi everyone, I wanted to provide you with an update on our future sailings. From today, we will be extending our rolling pause in operations on cruises from Australia to 2 December, 2020 as we continue to take guidance from authorities, public health experts and society on restarting sailing. We appreciate our guests’ loyalty and patience and, like you, remain hopeful that the start ...of summer brings new opportunities for the entire travel and tourism industry, which contributes so much to economies around Australia and across our Pacific region. In the meantime, we have also extended our flexible payment and cancellation policy - ‘P&O Assurance’ even further to the end of next year’s summer holidays (31 January, 2021) to give you more peace-of-mind in booking your next cruise holiday.
02.01.2022 The President of P&O Cruises Australia, Sture Myrmell, has specially thanked Ni Vanuatu crew member, Serah Taravaki, who is today being reunited with family and friends after completing international arrival quarantine, for her selfless efforts in helping to get many of her seafarer colleagues home. Serah could have gone home from P&O’s flagship Pacific Explorer on an earlier crew charter flight to Fiji and Vanuatu but volunteered to stay on board to help in the complex repat...riation project to get thousands of crew members home. In doing so, Serah became the last of 17,000 crew members in P&O’s group of cruise lines within Carnival Corporation to arrive home in the culmination of one of the biggest ever maritime repatriation operations following the worldwide suspension of cruising. In a personal message to Serah, Mr Myrmell said: I want to thank you for your contributions to seeing us through this difficult time. I want you to know that your hard work has not gone unnoticed and you should be extremely proud of how you have positively impacted those you work with, your management and the organisation as a whole.
01.01.2022 Happy World Kindness Day Cruiselings Today we are throwing back to this time last year when our crew showed kindness to some furry canines Guide dogs Narjee and Polly sailed on Pacific Aria in November 2019, to help guests Leisa-Maree and Sharon enjoy a much anticipated cruise to the Great Barrier Reef ... Jason Stankoski from Stapell Working Dog & Cane made the arrangements, which enabled Leisa-Maree, Sharon and their canine supporters to cruise and Jason could not have been more complimentary about how the P&O team supported these special guests. Jason said Leisa-Maree and Sharon were made to feel completely included throughout the cruise by the crew. "The seven-night cruise on Pacific Aria was exceptional. The onboard staff were excellent and the communication prior to the cruise was fantastic." Plus others onboard with disabilities were also treated with the same great respect. Do you have a story when a P&O crew member showed you some kindness?
01.01.2022 During P&Os pause in operations, two much loved senior officers Melissa and Dave Yates, have swapped their seafarer whites for new uniforms as they volunteer to support local charities. The well known couple are familiar faces on Pacific Explorer helping to make thousands of Australians holiday dreams come true. They were in between onboard contracts when the pause began. But they cant stop caring for others and are bringing smiles to the people of their UK home town of B...everley in Yorkshire spending their free time helping several charities for the elderly and infirm. Dave is one of 250,000 Brits nationwide who make up the NHS Volunteer Army, helping vulnerable people stay safe and well at home. He is doing his bit for the local community during these extraordinary times by making regular phone calls to check on people who are required to self-isolate and not go outside. If that wasnt enough, Dave and wife Mel are extending their simple acts of kindness by volunteering to provide transport for local residents who need to attend hospital appointments, do their food shopping or collect medication amongst other important errands. Mel said that it was only natural that the pair would donate their time to those people who needed it most during this unusual time. In the case of Beverley Lift transport service, many existing volunteers are aged 70 years or older and have been required to self isolate until its safe to leave their homes. This has now left a shortage of volunteers and the charity needs the younger generation to pick up the service which is needed now more than ever, said Melissa. Were so proud of Melissa and Dave and wish them the best of luck in their very valuable work!
01.01.2022 Lets hear it for Vanuatu today as this proud South Pacific nation celebrates its 40th anniversary of independence We know that you love Vanuatus beautiful islands as much as we do and look forward to the day when we can rejoin our friends who offer such a warm welcome. P&O has such a close connection with Vanuatu. Over the past two decades we've brought more than two million guests to the country, and many of our wonderful crew members are from Vanuatu.... For now, we can enjoy the anniversary celebration from afar. The people of Vanuatu have been expressing their pride for their country by taking part in street parades and other festivities. Todays the day for us to say to Vanuatu and its people we love you and cant wait to see you again. : Vanuatu Ministry of Justice and Community Services

01.01.2022 Far North Queensland tourism operator Roderic Rees is a great example of the opportunities that tourism including cruising can provide. Roderic began his career as an adventure tour guide with a Cairns rafting company and then rose through the management ranks before actually buying the business, and just kept on growing. Roderic’s Cairns Adventure Group now comprises six separate adventure attractions such as white water rafting, rainforest tubing and rainforest tours. He’s... also a strong supporter of cruising and its contribution to the local visitor economy and like us looks forward to the restart of domestic cruise operations as a prelude to the return of international visitors. According to Roderic, the suspension of cruising has left a big hole to fill for local operators. And he’s also convinced that the return of cruising can help local tourism to not only rebuild but to also recover for the long term. Cruising meant having business coming in like clockwork, Roderic says. You knew exactly what you had and being without it was a big financial blow. So, let’s hear it for regional destination tour operators as we look forward to helping them recover with the return of cruising You can have your say on the restart of domestic cruise holidays to help regional destinations and local operators at this cruise industry link www.ReadySetSail.com.au.
