10.01.2022 Foot pain or injury during walking and exercise With "iso" in full effect, more Melbournians are walking and jogging for their exercise. What to do if you're experiencing foot pain during exercise:... 1) Ensure your shoes offer adequate fit and support (a firm heel counter and laces are a must) 2) Reduce distance and pace 3) Stick to even surfaces like walking tracks or ovals If your pain persists or worsens: 1) Rest the injury and refrain from exercise until pain has subsided 2) Ice the painful region for 5-10 minutes (twice a day) 3) Refrain from barefoot walking indoors and opt for supportive sandals or your trainers and orthotics (if you have them). If your pain doesn't improve it may be a good idea to contact one of our clinics. In light of current Stage 4 restrictions our helpful admin staff and Podiatrists can screen your concern over the phone and advise you of the best course of action. We are still able to see patients before the 28th September 2020 if they are deemed urgent.

08.01.2022 Are you experiencing foot pain during isolation? If so, it may be due to walking on hard surfaces without footwear. Our Podiatrists are treating an increased number of heel pain (plantar fasciitis) and forefoot pain (metatarsalgia) cases, as people are forced to spend more time at home. We suggest wearing supportive shoes indoors, or better yet your orthotics (if you have them) with a good pair of trainers. Learn more: https://podiatrygroupmelbourne.com.au//foot-pain-during-is
08.01.2022 All our clinics remain open. In light of COVID-19, we continue to screen all visitors to the clinic - this includes phone screening before attendance & temperature checks on arrival. We ask all patients to wear a face mask on arrival and follow social distancing (1.5m) in reception. Please stay safe.
02.01.2022 Can I see a podiatrist during stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne? The answer is yes with certain restrictions on the type of patients we can see. Until the 16th September 2020 we are only able to see patients deemed as urgent, where a lack of treatment would result in a significant deterioration in their condition or a significant change to their functional independence. If you need an appointment, but are unsure if you are eligible during the lockdown please call us on 9391 8201 and our helpful admin staff or Podiatrists will be able to talk you through it.
