23.01.2022 It’s damn near impossible to speak truth so that people with vastly different ears/hear it as one song. Today @amandascgorman did just that. She spoke the sorro...w of the aching/she reached across the aisle to acknowledge the displeasure of the defeated. An inaugural poet is meant to speak words that resonate in the various chambers of the many hearts that map the wide sweep spanning the multifarious terrain connecting the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans/she must invoke the north/the southshe must speak of survival and hope/she must bear witness to the terror or the conquered and the hubris of the conqueror. She must write the journey of common ground. #Amanda, with only 22 years in her rear view did that and more. See the light, she entreated us, be the light, she challenged. What a challenge. What a moment. What an occasion. In the tradition of Sojourner/Tubman/Parker/Jordan/Lorde/Angelou/She rose to the occasion/lifted the ragged spirits of the jaded masses/in the true tradition of poetry/she used words to draw a clear map towards a much needed sunrise.
