24.01.2022 "Worth" Treasure underfoot ... and unrecognized ... in the race for answers. Values traded for bandaids. Fleeting the pride that comes of mere adornments ... at such a cost. Rob Crow

24.01.2022 Temptation Tasty... though the sweet appears.... Its ugly head disguised still rears. To tantalize taste buds un-weary. Its tongue to moisten willing ears. Soft cunning words to lull defences. So powerful a foe Rob Crow

21.01.2022 A Note from the Author Putting Poetry into Motion In a world focusing much of its attention on surface outcomes and abilities it is no surprise that so many people worldwide are expressing a desire to develop personally and in particular, to find more meaning in their lives. ... Simply parroting information and grooming our speech to fit the intellectually correct model of the day does little if anything to benefit the development and growth of an individual. Indeed, as in the development of legal jargon, the goal in many ideologies seems to have become the almost total eradication of interpretation. Creating as a result the comfortable illusion of a seemingly common understanding, at best. Tenuous and temporary in even the very best of hands. No wonder then that poetry with its emphasis on interpretation remains such a challenge to so many. Each one of us is genetically, emotionally, intellectually, psychologically and spiritually as unique as our fingerprints. In my albeit limited experience, once you get passed any immediate similarities, I have never met a woman even close to being the same as any other and I have never met a man the same as any other either. Think about it. Each one of us is.... always was and will remain individual. United through our sharing of the gift of human life and unique in our experience and expression of same. Personal growth, purpose and meaning are as infinite in expression and form as the individuals who comprise the search for them. It is the experience of the search we have in common. As a poet I have come to appreciate many of the practical consequences of reading and more importantly writing poetry. The most significant of these being pondering. Pondering is the practice of giving something meaning. It is in giving meaning that we discover meaning for ourselves. In a world infinitely rich with opportunities for fulfilment the search for meaning is simply evidence of our lack of practice in allocating it. Poetry is a highly creative form of written expression. Interactive by nature with the inherent ability to hint at what is between the lines. And what is between the lines is space for you... your interpretation your unique perspective and ultimately your reflection supported and finding a place and purpose within the whole. It is as tools in the process of acknowledging and developing Creative Individual Thinking that I believe the role of poetry and parable long recognized as vessels containing truth re-discoverable through pondering, play a crucial part. I have published these poems so that you may ponder them, exercising in doing so those parts of your being that determine and allocate meaning. Perhaps you may be so moved as to write your own.
