25.01.2022 Good Morning All, Thank-you you all for your wonderful contributions during 2020. There are a few more Christmas poems coming scheduled up to Christmas Day. I have had a long think and decided to have a break from this sites administration commitment over the holidays and start up again in early February. I hope to do a bit of writing as well.... http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//merry-christmas-/
25.01.2022 Banana on the bus Bananas in a yellow stream Have tumbled from the bus. If you eat one and I do too, There’s plenty there for us. Bananas falling everywhere, But where are all the bins? If we eat ev’ry single one, Where will we put their skins? http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//banana-on-the-bu/

24.01.2022 Hibiscus In A Hurry The hasty Hibiscus has burst into flower. A glamorous beauty that seems a bit rude. Its bloom only lasts about twenty four hours before it will wilt to a shrivelling prude. Its pistil’s so long, like it’s poked out its tongue to grab the attention of passers-by. The tip has a group of five stigmas it’s hung [ 79 more words ] http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/10/04/11154/

24.01.2022 Bananas Who loves a banana? I know I really do, They’re tasty and filling, Are very good for you. Source of potassium, Very easy to peel, And if you are hungry, They almost make a meal. http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//bananas-by-toni-/

22.01.2022 The Black Sheep Baa, baa, baa, The black sheep cried, He'd lost his mum, On whom he relied. He'd wandered off, Then looked around, And nowhere could, His mother be found! He baaed to the flock, Where can she be? No answer came back, It was a mystery. He galloped around, Bleating loud and clear, When suddenly, She did appear.... http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//the-black-sheep-/

21.01.2022 Great Grannie’s birthday gift Great Grannie has a letter from a star who’s never met her and who wishes her the very, very best. It’s really quite uncanny that she wrote to our Great Nannie but I know Great Nannie’s feeling pretty blessed. We’re amazed (and who could blame us) that an idol who’s so famous was prepared to take this break from her routine. And although I feel no malice, I am just a little jealous that Great Grannie’s got a letter from the queen. http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//great-grannies-b/

20.01.2022 Unbeatable Bananas Bananas are the perfect fruit - I’m sure you must agree, But even if they aren’t for you, They surely are to me. They beckon with their yellow skin And brighten up my day, A single zip and I am in To eat without delay, An orange on the other hand Will take an age to peel; Compare banana with its zip. 20.01.2022 Billy went to the barber, With a kiss-curl in his hair, When the barber cut it off, There was a budgie there! http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//cutting-out-the-/
20.01.2022 With crimson eyes and slobbery face this monster is a sad disgrace. Behaving like a snot-grenade which shoots out goo that’s sneezed and sprayed. She moans and groans a burbled sigh, then coughs and splutters low and high. So do you think it’s best I leave her now my friend has spring hay fever? http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/10/02/11090/
19.01.2022 The bells ring (cling, clang) Feet dance (tippity tap) Voices sing (hip hooray) Hands clap (slap, slap) The streets cheer: ‘The war is over!’ My curtains draw (swish, swash) My clock clicks (tick, tock) My tears slip (drip, drop) My heart aches (crash-break) My brother won’t come home. The war is over. http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//victory-day-by-j/
19.01.2022 Van nana A bunch of monkeys at the zoo Devised a daring plan To create a small diversion And then steal the keeper’s van They waited ‘til his back was turned And swung behind the wheel The keeper didn’t notice ‘Til he heard his tyres squeal They headed for the fruit and veg The customers all ran As monkeys swiped bananas [ 59 more words ] http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/10/03/11149/

17.01.2022 RIP the ones at the bottom Bananas, bananas, bananas galore Pushing and shoving to get through the door, Bananas, bananas spew forth from the van Their desperate escape all part of the plan. Hand upon hand, fingers yellow and plump - All starting to turn and condemned to the dump - They have to get out claw free while they’re able [ 51 more words ] http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/10/01/11085/

10.01.2022 The picture in the history book Caused me to take a second look. Some boys were scaling up a wall; It looked to me someone might fall! The wall had windows: large ones too, As schools built long ago can do. These give the students lots of light And so protect their precious sight. The walls composed of solid brick, [ 99 more words ] http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/11/10/11329/

06.01.2022 SPRING The birds that graced my garden through Winter's cold Now, melodically, spend their time Calling for a mate among their kind Or inspecting nest sites new and old. Thus, has Spring's renewal unfurled In my small corner of the world. ********** Margaret Brazzale http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//spring-by-margar/

02.01.2022 Is Fake News Monkey-business? Hurried conclusions and being sensational. Sometimes, fake news is skewing our rationale. No more slow-plodding on things that are boring. The dash to get printed or famously best, means stunning results might have lied on their tests. Then doors, opened hastily, start a calamity, causing confusion, profusion and mess! http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au/2020/09/23/11060/
01.01.2022 Spring cycle When winter leaves Leaves grow again, Again the buds of spring Spring into life, Life takes on a new meaning, Meaning of course it’s spring. Spring, when winter leaves Leaves grow again, Again the world is new, New and freshly scented, Scented with flowers and hope, Hope that trouble, like winter, leaves. http://australianchildrenspoetry.com.au//spring-cycle-by-/
