22.01.2022 Hello! My name is Jake Hickey and I am excited to be joining the community of Point Cook P-9 College as a Secondary Math and Science teacher. I am enthusiastic about Science and Maths, and emphasise an importance in creating engaging lessons that encourage passionate learners. 12.01.2022 I am very excited to be joining the college in 2021 as a 7-9 English/Humanities teacher and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a new member of the teaching staff at Point Cook P-9 College. To give you some brief information about myself, I have a varied and dynamic history - making the move to teaching after completing my Bachelor of Education (P - 12) in 2019. Prior to moving to teaching I worked as an account manager and administrator for an Australi...an manufacturer, while additionally working in a variety of management roles within the hospitality industry since 2009. Adventure and personal development has always been something I’ve strived for in my life and after completing my sail training aboard the South Australian based Brigantine ‘The One and All’ in 2007, I worked as a youth trainer and sailor for Tall Ships Australia until 2012. I can still often be found heading away on a day trip or camping. I hold a deep interest and passions in creative arts, economics, politics, nature and environment, and literature. Participating during my own education in competitive debating, creative projects and various community service prospects. I am an accomplished Saxophone player throughout the years playing in multiple bands, musical orchestras, and at the Ballarat Jazz Festival from 2006 - 2009. 2019 and 2020 saw the emergence of my photography into the public domain; showcasing a number of selected photographs as an exhibiting photographer, in addition to photographing a number of school productions and activities. Throughout my life I have been involved in outreach and community programs - previously assisting with school based community programs, primary reading support, kitchen garden programs, undertaking work as a Volunteer Fire-Fighter with the CFA, and travelling to Zambia as an Orphanage volunteer worker. One of the things I love about my endeavours as a teacher is witnessing the infectious nature that passion has in inciting curiosity. Having the opportunity to inspire and share my passions is one of the reasons I am so excited to be joining the community of Point Cook College for my next adventures. Bethany Cogger

11.01.2022 Great news! We are ahead of where we thought we would be in driving down coronavirus numbers. Thanks to the efforts of all Victorians, today we announced that A...LL primary students in metro Melbourne can return to face-to-face teaching in the week of October 12. This is a wonderful outcome for all primary students, but particularly for Year 6 students in their final year of school. Its such a milestone year in young peoples lives and I know how much everyone was hoping for a quick return. They can now celebrate their last ever term in primary with their schoolmates and teachers, and look forward to the exciting transition to secondary school. We always said that as soon as we got public health advice, we would return other students to face-to-face teaching. All metro primary students will join special school students and VCE and VCAL students in face to face teaching on site. Schools will make local decisions on what day students return during the week of the 12th. Remote learning continues to play a key role in significantly reducing the movement of people across the state. For that reason, a decision has not yet been made on the return of secondary students in years 7 to 10. As always that will be guided by our health experts and the states coronavirus numbers. A massive thank you to all of the school staff, parents and carers, and our students who have played a huge role in making remote learning work. You have all made a big difference to our success as the coronavirus numbers continue to fall.

05.01.2022 "Hi there my name is Steph Noske, and I am very excited to be joining the team at Point Cook P-9 College in 2021. I will be moving over from South Australia to Ocean Grove with my family and Daisy, our crazy Kelpie later this year. In 2017, I decided on a career change after four and a half years working as a journalist, both in SA and interstate. I assisted students with additional needs and those who speak English as an additional language while working as a teacher's aide,... before graduating with a Masters of Teaching from the University of South Australia in mid 2020. I will be teaching years seven to nine English and Humanities at Point Cook. I am passionate in making my lessons an engaging and welcoming place for all students and I look forward to bringing 21st century technologies into my classroom. Outside of school, I love watching and playing sport. I have played women's football for the past eight years and have already prepared myself for the grief I will get for my choice of AFL team. I am looking forward to stand-up paddleboarding at some of the sensational locations in my soon-to-be new backyard. I look forward to meeting you all soon, until then have a safe and enjoyable break."
