If you’d like to become a Lifesaver too, please email [email protected] to find out when the next course is on, and you too can wear the Red and Yellow, keeping Australian Beaches safe!
24.01.2022 Did you know? When you donate directly to a surf life saving club, 100% of the funds remain with that club. This year more than ever we are heavily reliant on donations to keep our club afloat. ... Donations to Point Lookout SLSC can be made by the link in the comments below or through the donations tab on our website www.pointlookoutslsc.com.au #callforhelp #pointlookoutslsc #straddie #minjerribah #redlandscoast #thisissurflifesaving #volunteers #community

15.01.2022 One of the challenges we face being located on a island it transport. And one of our clubs greatest supporters are @sealinkstradbrokeisland who go above and beyond to support us. They have sponsored our operations for many years and we are grateful for their assistance. We thank-you for your support again this season and look forward to your continued support into the future. #pointslsc #pointlookout #redlands #sealink #minjerribah #community #volunteers

12.01.2022 more than ever Point Lookout SLSC needs your support! We rely on volunteers, sponsorships and donations to keep the beaches of Point Lookout safe. This year Covid has dramatically reduced our income stream. We hope we don’t have to save you, but it’s nice to know we will be there. Please give generously https://sosweek.raisely.com/t/point-lookout-slsc ... #Straddie #minjerribah #sosweek2020 #nsi #northstradbrokeisland #redlandscoast #redlandsanyday #slsq #slsa #volunteer #pointslsc #help #redandyellow
09.01.2022 A very Big Thank-You to all our members for making this challenging year a good one. We value your dedication to protecting the beaches of Point Lookout and to our Clubs History
09.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon, our Surf Lifesavers were alerted to two people in distress at South Gorge. Lifesavers Matthew and Micheal were first on scene, racing the boat through some difficult conditions to find the two people caught between the cliff face and incoming surf. Matthew jumped from the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) and held both victims afloat as Micheal drove the IRB by himself to get through the incoming waves, returning to pick up a patient, returning them to shore, ...and driving back out to sea for the second victim and Matthew. Off duty Surf Club Members Jack and Charlotte Johnstone, Brody and Pat Trevor-Jones, Luke Edwards and Andrew Pryor all ran down to South Gorge with rescue equipment to assist, while more off-duty Lifesavers Ryan Heisig, Sol and Riley Shilling took boards from Main Beach to paddle around and see how they could help. If it weren’t for the fast reactions of our Lifesavers, both on and off duty, and the outstanding bravery, skills and judgement by Matthew and Micheal there would not have been a happy ending. South Gorge remains one of the most dangerous locations on North Stradbroke Island, with members of the public consistently bypassing multiple No Swimming signs to swim. There have been rescues conducted almost every week since September, all to people who have chosen to ignore safety signs and directions from Lifesavers, resulting in our Volunteers risking their lives for the sakes of others. If you happen to see swimmers outside of patrolling areas, please ask them to move between the red and yellow flags. Remember, She’ll be right won’t save your life. Stay safe this summer, look out for one another and if you see anyone in distress in the water at North Stradbroke Island, call 000.
09.01.2022 Drawn this Saturday!!!! Get your tickets now, before you miss out!
08.01.2022 This weekend marks the fourth in a row, for rescues conducted in South Gorge, just by the Surf Club. There are always powerful currents moving around, which make it easy for swimmers to be sucked out to sea. Today two members of the public were quickly sucked out to sea after ignoring four different warning signs, and if it weren’t for the quick actions of our young Patrolling member Colt Graham who rescued both people with one rescue tube, there may have been two people unable to have gone home. Well done Colt, and all of the other members involved in the past few weeks, risking their lives to save others!
