13.01.2022 A big thankyou to our team of volunteers today who helped pack 4000 bags of Jellybabes, so everyone is looked after at the Pinnacle in 2 weeks time. This year we are working on being completely single use plastic free on event day, so we have packed Lollies in environmentally friendly Biopakk paper bags, rather than buying them in individual plastic bags as we have used in the past. Thanks to Edmund Rice Camps Tasmania for your involvement and providing some wonderful young people volunteering their time to get the job done Thanks to The Running Edge for the venue Minimal soft plastic bulk packaging was then taken to Woolworths to be recycled. Thanks to Abel Pakk for your valued partnership

07.01.2022 Adam from Tasmania has taken part in every Point to Pinnacle event for the past 12 years - how amazing is that! "I’ve managed to do every P2P since my first in 2008. My older brother got me into it and I’ve been hooked ever since. Before my first P2P I thought running more than a flat 10km fun run was insane. I’d love everyone to know that with a good training program this race is achievable for most people. There are few feelings as good as getting over the line."... Congratulations Adam we can't wait to see you back for the 2021 event! #P2P20 #PointToPinnacle #1271m

05.01.2022 Deb signed up for the 2020 Point to Pinnacle Vertical Challenge to test herself for the real thing in 2021 She is 64 and has never done a half marathon before, her training involved walking in soft sand for approximately 70-80kms per week - what an amazing job! Lucky all event supporters get exclusive access to VIP early bird registrations for the 2021 event - meaning you can secure your spot early for this sellout event... We can't wait to see you back next year to join us at the 2021 Point to Pinnacle event! #PointToPinnacle #1271m #P2P20

04.01.2022 The post we have not being wanting to post. Unfortunately this years Point to Pinnacle & Point to Pub Events have been cancelled due to the current uncertainties around COVID-19. It is certainly a decision not made lightly and with the interest of all our participants and the wider community in mind. A copy of our media release is available on the latest news tab on the P2P website. https://www.pointtopinnacle.com.au//07/29/2020-p2p-cancel/

Now that the #P2P20 is over it's the time to kick up your heels and celebrate! Reminder that you have three days after the challenge to get your strava activity logged - make all those metres count team ... #1271m #PointToPinnacle

03.01.2022 Unfortunately Mount Wellington / Kunanyi has not played fair today. The last 4kms of road was icy and snow covered making it impossible to take 69 buses to the top safely. Enjoy your day on the alternate course which will be the first time it has ever been used.

02.01.2022 Turn your sound on for this video! An icy start of -2.9C (-18C apparent temperate) at 5.30am on the pinnacle of kunanyi/Mt. Wellington meant the buses couldn't safely reach the top. So the call was made for Plan B, a 19.5km race from Wrest Point Hobart to the Longley International Hotel!... Special thanks to the communities of Ferntree, Neika and Longley for your support and understanding with the road closures changing at late notice. We had a record entrance of 4335 walkers and runners taking part in both the Knight Frank Hobart Point to Pinnacle and Hazell Bros Group Point to Pub events! Without our volunteers and supporters we couldn't make these events happen, so a HUGE thanks to Discover Tasmania, Events Tasmania, City of Hobart, Movember Australia, irun.org.au, Tasmanian Bakeries, Tasmania SES, Tasmania Police, Metro Tasmania, GHD Group, All Aerobics Fitness and St John Ambulance Australia Tasmania. Congratulations and thanks to the Movember Australia team for 10 years of energy, support and extraordinary fundraising for Mens Health with the P2P challenge! We loved having Carrie and Tommy, from The Project, with a group of their family and friends (spot Christian Hull!) being part of the challenge this year and raising money for Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.
