21.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Bladder 10 - Celestial Pillar.... Bladder 10 is found at top of the neck, base of the skull on both human and horses. Wind cold likes to enter the body here. My own acupuncturist used to always tell me to put on a scarf in winter and when i asked would say to keep these neck points warm and to stop the wind cold getting in. Bladder 10 helps to expel the wind which causes problems to blow around the body like a ...storm. Wind causeing seizures, pain to move around the body and blows cold into the body causing dull aching pain. The bladder meridian runs down the back of your horse and this point helps invigorate the back helping with cold back and back pain. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks

19.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Triple Heater 5 -outer pass.... The Triple heater meridian is very much associated with your horses immune system and also relates to the thyroid and adrenal glands. With the change of the seasons triple heater 5 is a great little point as it is a junction point between the inner and outer and in this role helps your horse adjust to the external environmental changes. Triple heater 5 tonifys wind cold (the... beginning of a cold, sniffles, sneezing, chills) and sedates wind heat (when your cold has peaked with fever, aches) It also alleviates pain along the meridian which starts at the coronary band, up the foreleg, shoulder, middle of the neck and around the ear. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #point2pointequine

18.01.2022 If you have seen me tickling the roof of your horses mouth to get there tongue wagging in a session this is a great explanation why

17.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Lung 6 - Collection hole... Lung 6 name collection hole is linked to its use as an accumulation point. This is where the Qi of the meridian is deeply converged. Qi and blood are stored deeply at these particular points. This makes it a good point for any lung problems being on the lung meridian any problems from the chest, foreleg and hoof. Lung 6 Regulates lung Qi, makes lung Qi descend(stopping cough) , ... clear dampness from lungs, Clears heat( Inflammation) and Stops bleeding. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, yawning, chewing, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #point2pointequine

17.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Small Intestine 3 back stream... The small intestine meridian runs from the coronet band up the back of the foreleg to the elbow and then crosses to the front of the shoulder, up the middle of the neck, to the middle of the jaw and then finished under the ear. Small intestine 3 is a stream point on the small intestine meridian which means the qi trickles like a stream through this point. This helps move the blo...cked qi faster alliviating pain in the meridian quicker. As well as using it to clear heat and pain in the fetlock area It is also a distal point for pain in the neck and sore throat. So if your horses neck is stiff and they dont like you to touch it you can use this point to ease the pain first. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine

16.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday ..tuesday Todays awesome little point is Triple Heater 10 - covering elbow... Triple heater 10 is used for clearing heat in the triple burner meridian which runs from the coronet band, up the middle of the foreleg, to the elbow, shoulder , up the base of the neck, around the ear to the top of the eye. This means it can help with ear and eye disorders , headaches and calming the mind. It also is a sedation point and great for alleviating ...pain along the meridian. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine #tcmrocks #acupuncturerocks

Large Intestine 10 is used to Regulate qi and blood making you easily walk for 3 miles...like the name suggests It also activates the large intestine channel which runs from the coronary band, up the foreleg, front of shoulder, underside of neck, along the jaw to halfway up the nose. It also alleviates pain along this meridian. Large Intestine 10 also Harmonises the in...testines and stomach so can help with abdominal pain and colic. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, yawning, chewing, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #point2pointequine

12.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Lung 11 - young merchant.... I was silly enough to not use this point when i felt the tickle and now have a cold but this might help one of you! Acupuncture helps with a range of ailments and in ways people dont think... like the common cold and flu. Lung 11 is a pretty cool point. It is known to benefit the throat and even stop the dreaded cold!!!... Lu11 is on the end of the lung meridian and what is called a jing-Well point. Jing- well points you will find on the ends of your fingers and toes and on your horses coronet band. They are great for removing tension and heat in the body. This is why lung 11 is also a great point for removing heat in laminitis and foreleg swelling! If you feel a tickle in the back of your throat or a cold coming on try Lung 11. On yourself use your fingernail or a blunt pencil and hold with medium pressure for 10 minutes. On your horse hold with your finger and medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc This point really works if you use it at that first tickle. Have a great week #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine

11.01.2022 Congratulations Point 2 Point client Meg Baldock and the always handsome Disco bringing home the big sashes and rug at the Bathurst show today

11.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Liver 14 - Expectations door.... The liver in chinese medicine is responsible for the smooth flow of qi throughout the body. When healthy, Liver Qi rises up from the feet and legs, through the groin and abdomen to the chest, empowering action and engagement with life. A common place for this uprising Qi to become stuck is in the chest at the last point (14) of the Liver meridian, expectations door or also know...n as gate of hope. When Liver 14 becomes blocked, there can be constriction in the diaphragm leading to frequent sighing. There may be pain, distension and fullness in the chest as well as epigastric pain, nausea, reflux and vomiting. At the psycho-emotional level blocked Qi at liver 14 may result in an inability to see the way forward in life, feelings of gloominess, hopelessness and resignation. Opening the Gate of Hope can expand the horizons, allowing the person to see the limitless possibility that life has to offer. It provides support to meet the challenges of the world with zest and vigour, direction and purpose. You could try This point for a horse who is depressed say from moving agistment, loss of paddock mate etc Liver 14 is also an alarm point for the liver meaning if this point is tender on palpation there maybe stuck liver qi and maybe liver issues that need clearing. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine

09.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Stomach 6 - jaw chariot.... Wind in Chinese medicine enters the body (usually the skin) and once in the body shakes the blood vessels like the branches shaking on a tree. This causes tremors, epilepsy and facial paralysis. Stomach 6 eliminates wind from the face helping the face muscles regain use and stopping the tremors,. Stomach 6 is also a ghost point which are certain points found to help with mental ...health, addiction and obsession. Stomach 6 role as a ghost point is to help with PTSD and for when you clench your jaw when stressed and anxious. Also helping with jaw, toothache and tmj problems. If you have a horse who had a rough life before you or clinches their jaw when stressed while riding this point may help you get them to release those emotions . Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #point2pointequine

09.01.2022 This is more for you dog then horse but if you are intersted in how to feed your dog or cat for its tcm type and fight allergies and other problems check out PET TAO Holistic Pet Products and their website has great FREE Ebooks and info https://pettao.com/free-content-library/

08.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Bladder 39 - outside of the crook.... The Bladder channel is my favourite meridian as it is easy to access on a horse and has so many awesome points. Bladder 39 is used as a diagnostic point for hock pain. Meaning if your horse is having problems behind and this point is sensitive to palpation then this could indicate hock pain. It is also used to treat hock pain and any swelling around the hock area as it mov...es the blocked qi and alleviates pain. Bladder 39 also benefits the bladder of your horse and regulates urination helping with Difficult urination, retention of urine, and painful urinary dysfunction. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks

08.01.2022 Happy Christmas to all my clients and #point2pointacupointfriday followers Here is a little point to get you and your 4 legged friends through the over eating Christmas period... CV 12 - alarm point of the stomach... Take care and i am thinking up some new posts for 2019... stay tuned x Amanda

07.01.2022 Happy #point2pointequineacupointfriday #fridayflashback ... This is my favourite point and i use it in every treatment. It relaxes the horse, eases the back, feeds the bones and just rocks!! Resting the palm off your hand and the warmth off of your hand helps warm the kidneys and release the point. Enjoy x

06.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Gallbladder 27 - fifth pivot... Horses dont have a gallbladder but we use the name and path of the gallbladder meridian from humans. The gallbladder meridian runs from above the eye , over the ear, along the middle of the neck, down to the ribs and then up and around the hips , and down the middle of the hindleg to the coronary band. The name of this point refers to the "Five Pivots" or "Axes" of the body whi...ch are three muscles that go from the front to back of the body at the major sections of upper, middle and lower this is why it is so good for relieving back and pain over the hind end. Gallbladder 27 is also used as a diagnostic point for hock pain. So if this point is tender on palpation and your horse is sore behind it could be from hock pain and worth getting checked out. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #equineacupuncture #point2pointequine

05.01.2022 Happy #point2pointequineacupointfriday #flashbackfriday This is an awesome emergency point. You can bring people and animals back from unconsciousness just by tapping the middle of the top lip! Enjoy

04.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Stomach 40 - abundant bulge... Stomach 40 is a great point for moving phlegm. Phlegm in chinese medicine isnt just the stucky stuff you cough up when you have a cold. Phlegm is a product of the moisture taken in with food and beverages, it is "congealed moisture." Unlike qi, phlegm It makes you feel sluggish and bloated instead of free and floating. Moving the phlegm helps with constipation, edema, stomach pa...in and even clearing the phlegm in the mind causing mania and seizures. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #tcmrocks #point2pointequine

03.01.2022 Happy #point2pointacupointfriday Todays awesome little point is Small Intestine 5 - yang valley.... The Small intestines functionin tcm is to receive the food and drinks from the TCM Spleen and Stomach and separate the good fluid from the bad. It sends the good fluid to the Large Intestine for re-absorption, and getting rid of the bad fluids which will go down to the Bladder for excretion. The interesting part about the TCM Small Intestine though, is its mental function. T...he TCM SI is in charge of separating good thoughts form bad ones. A good versus evil kind of thing. The TCM small intestine (when healthy) will be able to make the difference between right and wrong. The tcm Heart houses the mind and is in charge of all our mental health, and clear judgement depends on the Small intestine. Small Intestine 5 is the point for making clear decisions. It is also used to unblock the meridian helping with tendon problems , laminitis and hoof / fetlock problems. Hold with medium pressure until you get a release like licking, chewing, yawning, sighing etc Have a great week #equineacupuncture #tcmrocks #acupuncturerocks
