24.01.2022 GETTING OUR LITTLE FINGERS READY TO TAKE CONTROL OF OUR PENCIL. Pencil grip changes as our fine motor muscles develop. Each stage we have little tricks to Practice small fine motor exercises with fingers to strengthen grip. Pencil control is not just about writing it’s getting those little muscles in the fingers strong enough to do so. Little tricks we play at Poka Dot Kids to work on this muscle development. -Pick up rice and count each grain.... -finger pinching -crocodile kisses. ( we can show you this action with fingers) - Finger rhymes. -scissor cutting - threading pasta on pipe cleaners. - weaving in and out. 22.01.2022 POKA DOT KIDS are supporting a fundraiser for HOPE FOR HEIDI A special little 12 mth old princess that has been diagnosed with a rare form of aggressive cancer. As you can imagine the family are devastated and any small gesture is appreciated to help them throughout this traumatic journey of heavy chemotherapy and radiation. We have order forms for 1 kg tubs of cookies (you get about 40 per tub) $16.00. Assorted flavors. All orders and money in by 3rd July and a pick up date from the centre will be arranged. FORMS ARE AVAILABLE AT ALL CENTRES.

18.01.2022 POKA DOT KIDS FIRST EVER EXCURSION What a wonderful day to be out and about with a bunch of over excited children and a heap of very active educators, we took off to Blackbutt Forest for the day. How much fun did we have !!!!

18.01.2022 This week Mr Hailstone, the deputy principal of Mt Terry Primary School came across the road and visited POKA DOT KIDS MT TERRY. He read a story, played some games and answered all our questions about big school. Thankyou so much for a very interesting morning.
