25.01.2022 These four young ones travelled to Inverell on the weekend for Northern NSW Champs of Champs. All 4 played great tennis. Ewan finished 7 th at Grafton in North Coast event then made final in 10 Boys at Inverell. Played a final that went for 50 mins that featured some great rallies. Kept his head and stayed positive. Cooper finished 8th in North East but the finished 6th at Inverell and now off to State. Played his best tennis ever. Sienna and Madi also played great in 12 Girls. Sienna ( just turned 10 yrs ) lost in final and Madi finished 3 rd after finishing 8 th in North East. Great effort by all 4 and a fun time had by all.

22.01.2022 Girls played the JDS in Port last Sunday and had a great day. Reece won the 8 yrs Girls with 2 wins over a girl she had not beaten before. Maddi was runner up in 10 Girls. More importantly at this age all the girls spent the day mucking around together on the Hotshots courts having fun when not playing and were exhausted at end of day. Owen made semis if Open Boys and Pete and Sienna also had great tennis all day

21.01.2022 We held our 1st UTR Event at Englands Park yesterday. Had nearly 60 entries and all had a great day. Photos below show various finalists. Open Div 1 - Frank Schultheiss and Blake Robertson, Div 2 - Owen Stone and Max Jones, Div 3 - Lachie Anderson and Zoe Browning. 14’s Div 1 - Paco Schultheiss and Adrian Aranibar, Div 2 - Oliver Seeto and Alex Radulescu, Div 3 - Nicholas Tausen and Jasper Hein. 11’s Greenball - Billy Conlan and Mara Tauson. Thanks to all those who travelled as we had entries from Tweed to Port. Thanks also to Leanne and Leigh who kept the kitchen ticking over all day and the parents who cooked some amazing lunches.

20.01.2022 Two happy little campers played in the 8’s Girls at a Junior Round Robin at Sawtell today Reece Legend and Piper Dyett battled high winds to finish up with Reece winner and Piper runner up. Both girls had a great day. Well done

18.01.2022 Well done Alanna. She was playing at NSW Age Champs in Sydney and managed to come runner up in 14 Girls singles final and then gained revenge by winning the doubles. Very good effort from somebody who does not work hard enough. At 4/4 in 2nd set of singles final she did a number of doubles to lose serve and be down 4/5. She was heard to call out I actually should listen to my coach and actually train . I am going to remind her of that when she gets home. Had a win over No 1 seed in semis of singles. How good could she be - we might never know. Good tournament Alanna.

17.01.2022 Tianna and Celina with the trophy for NSW CHS Teams event which North Coast won for 3rd year in a row. Tianna was No 1 in team and did not lose a singles. She was first one picked for Merit Award. Great effort all round girls. Good luck in Gloucester and Newcastle

17.01.2022 Tianna won her 1st AMT Ladies singles at Gloucester over the long weekend. She followed that up teaming with her friend Olivia to win doubles also. Mustn’t be far to go now to buy that car. Great job. Hope the car looks good

15.01.2022 We had a group of about 15 travel to Kendall on the weekend for our first UTR Ranking Tournament. Wendy did a great job getting all the kids plenty of tennis. Everyone played some of their best tennis. Corey won the UTR 7 to 12 Singles which provided him some matchplay. Jasper made final of 1-2 Greenball and he teamed with Alex to win the doubles. Everyone got at least 4 singles matches and had a great time.

14.01.2022 Another JDS in Coffs today. After a shakey rain interrupted start ( super sopping Cts ) everyone had a great day. All the kids played well. Mya Clouton played her 1st ever competition in the 8 Girls and finished with a smile and a runners up trophy. Alex Radulescu won the 8 Boys again and will play with the big boys in 10’s next time. Ewan Clowes and Phoebe Oliver both made final of 10’s to finish runner up. Both worked hard on aspects of their games to improve. Older sister Layla was runner up in 12 Girls after playing well all day. Adrian Aranibar was runner up in 14 Boys after getting more aggressive towards end of day. Maddi, Sienna, Drew, Alex, Lachie, Owen and Peter all played well and focussed on things to move forward. On to Taree in 2 weeks.

14.01.2022 We are allowed to do private coaching and hire out the courts to social players. ( Maximum of 2 people to a court ) again. Will bevcontacting students today but if your home and want to get back into tennis give me a call. We will have all the safety protocols in place

14.01.2022 Krystal is a happy chappy after winning her first ITF singles in Canberra. Had three good wins over Mia Repac, Lexie Weir and Lara Walker on way to final. Then had a classic win over Chiara DiTommasi 4/6 7/6 6/4. Was very mentally tough all tournament. Then finished ITF off well by teaming with good friend Tash Russell ( SA ) to win doubles as well over Maggie Pearce ( SA ) / Helena Spiridis (Vic ) 1/6 6/1 11/9. Great effort, thoroughly deserved with all the hard work been doing and getting through injuries. Well done

12.01.2022 Something the kids very rarely see but in these difficult times I AM having to pick up the balls. ( plus all the other safety protocols ). Phoebe thought she would take this to keep as her proof. I told kids not to get used to it as restrictions on our life won’t be forever. At least we are on court coaching and playing 1 on 1.

12.01.2022 Took the 3 girls to NSW Country Champs AMT at Forster July 6. All 3 played well. Krystal won the Singles and paired with Laia Pasini to win doubles. I think she might be youngest girl to ever win the singles. Who else should they play in doubles final but Alanna and Tianna - so we had 3 out 4 in doubles final. Alanna and Tianna pushed them all the way to only go down 7/6 6/4. Tianna also did well in AMT singles to finish 3rd. Good effort from all. Now all in bus and off to Brisbane

10.01.2022 Focus on the right goal. The goal is not to win, winning you cannot control. What you can control is your focus, determination, concentration and your discipline. Be more prepared than your opponent.

09.01.2022 Not sure at my age how I am going to put up with these 3 and Damo in next few years but it should keep me on my toes. Never a dull moment as you can see at Grafton North East titles

07.01.2022 Took some children to the 1st JDS of the year at Port Macquarie today. All had a great day. Alex Radulescu played some great tennis in final of 8’s to win 4/0. Cooper Gunther played the best he has ever played to make final of 10’s. Did not play as positive in final. Adrian Aranibar also played his best tennis ever to make final of 14’s and lost 6/4. I think all three proved to themselves that they play better when focused on how to hit ball than worrying about results. Damo also made semis of Open All in all everyone had a great day

07.01.2022 Alex Radulescu ( on the left ) just turned 7 had his 1st tournament win today at Sawtell in the 8 & under. Has improved out of sight lately in both his technique and attitude on court. Well done Alex.

06.01.2022 Not quite my cup of tea but my daughter Jess can be very persuasive. We attended the Tennis NSW Awards night on Thursday and it was a good night. 350 people attended including one of my idols, Ken Rosewall and many other tennis illuminaries . It was very satisfying to be win award for Coaching Excellence Talent Development especially coming from a regional centre. It recognises your ability to develop talent in kids from 8 yrs through to 18 yrs in past 3 years. Thanks Alison and Jess

06.01.2022 Krystal is off to the USA today after being selected in an Aust 2002 & 2003 Girls team. This is a great reward for the effort she has put in over last few years. I’m sure she will make most of the opportunity and also have a great time. Florida here she comes.

04.01.2022 Have just been to the Country Champs with both some older boys and the younger ones played the following week. Sienna Anderson was the star performer winning the 10 Girls singles ( 6/3 6/4 against Caitlyn Abela from Wollongong) and the Girls Doubles with good friend Paige ( from Kendall). Sienna played some good aggressive tennis all week and kept having a go at her serve even if some doubles happened occasionally. Cooper Gunther made quarters of 10 Boys and he and Ewan Clowes made quarters of doubles. Looking forward to next few years with this troupe and some who stayed at home for this one. Both boys played some of their best tennis. Damo made a final in Special Doubles and played well as did Peter, Owen and James. All in all it was a great tournament by all. Shame about the rain at start which made Courts very fast and challenging.

01.01.2022 Travelled to the last JDS at Port today. Sienna had a win in the 12 Girls ( more importantly served and constructed points well ), Madi finished 3rd in 12 Girls, Cooper made semis of 10 Boys, Adrian finished 5th in 14 Boys , both Ewan and Alex played up an age group and finished 5th and Damo missed out on semis by one game. All in all everyone had a great day and came away fully aware of what they need to do to keep improving. Left in bus at 6.30am and all still full of talk on bus home at 6.30pm. Boys talk more in the bus than the girls I usually take away.

01.01.2022 In Brisbane we played the ITF 18’s with Krystal and the Qld State Age Rod Laver with Tianna and Alanna. Tianna and Alanna played very well to win their doubles events. Tianna combined with Hanna Sonton to beat No 1 seeds Sasha Nelson / Lana Djokovic 7/6 6/4 in 16 doubles. Tianna was so aggressive- didn’t know she could move so fast in some of the balls she got back. Alanna Kaye’s with Cassidy Mataia to win 14 doubles against No 1 seeds 2&3. Alanna played a great singles to finish 3rd beating Maliyah Vili 6/4 4/6 10/3. Played best I’ve seen her play esp after I asked a photographer who was beside her court if he could leave please. Poor Alanna does not like having her photo taken. Great 2 tournaments except for Tianna losing Alanna’s phone
