18.01.2022 **CLOSURE UPDATE** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ Last night I sat up for a very long time watching everyone’s opinions on today’s national closures from other studio owners. I do not want to put a single one of you or anyone you have contact with, in danger of contracting, because it’s only a matter of time before someone dances with us who doesn’t know they’re infected and spreads it to others. I can’t do that to you guys. We will be temporarily closing our doors from today. For now... I want to err on the side of caution and put our classes this week on hold. Things are changing everyday, and I will continue to keep you guys up to date with the information I receive. All classes from tonight (23/3) until Friday (27/3)will not be going ahead. I will make another announcement (unless it’s made for me) on Friday. We will be in touch with our students regarding whether we can offer online lessons, we’re still with you and still very much want to stay connected to you all! 02.01.2022 Here’s our first video in our Prime You Body 7 day series. Get your body moving gently to prime yourself for a new year of pole starting 13th January. Follow along and share on Instagram with the hashtag #pbsprimeyourbody to help double our donation to the bushfire efforts. *Start with gentle leg kicks to warm up your legs. Make sure your knees stay straight and don’t kick to hard to start. Use control to lift your leg rather than using momentum. 10 kicks forward each leg, 10... kicks sideways each leg, 10 kicks backward each leg. You can increase the reps if you have the time *Move to a Down Dog position and gently push through each ankle stretching out the calf muscle and hamstring again being gentle to start and then as you feel your muscles start to lengthen you can push a little deeper. 10 reps each leg *10 inch worms holding plank for 10 seconds each rep. Start gentle and slowly try to get your hands closer to your toes each time you inchworm closed. Keep your knees straight *Old man stretch, start with your knees bent in a squat position and slowly extend your legs straight. You can start with your hands elevated and work towards moving them to the ground as demonstrated. Try to work towards nose to knees in the straight leg position *Step onto a yoga block or something which slightly elevates you from the ground and gently complete 10 slow controlled ankle raises *back to Down Dog position and complete 10 leg kicks each leg, using control rather than momentum. Then 10 pulses at the top of the kick, each leg followed by bending the knee and grabbing your foot with the opposite hand. Use your core for balance, control your breathing and hold for 10seconds. *Finally finish on your back with 10 pulses each leg, followed by 3 sets of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) which means to gently push back out of the stretch for 5 seconds then pull your leg back into the stretch. Each time you should feel your hamstring allow itself to lengthen to go deeper into the stretch. Each movement can be extended by holding for longer or more reps if you have the time but this should take you approximately 10-15mins. Enjoy, move your body and feel the benefit.
