25.01.2022 Reflection - week 18 2021 Present Not material items or gift cards, but presence. It is so important to those around us. I always feel loved when I spend the day with my family. ... Not having our heads down on devices, or the TV on while someone is visiting. To switch off distractions and be present. Focus on being where your feet are. This is by far the best gift we can give - our attention and precious time.

24.01.2022 It's HAMBURGER day! I don't know about you but I can be a little overwhelmed with sooo many options in this modern times. Back when I was a kid it got as fancy as 'the lot'. Now you can have 'naked' burgers. No carbs, no meat, no animal products - only plant based food!... If you head out today to grab a burger, what is your 'go to'?

22.01.2022 Valentine's day seems to be important to alot of people. Perhaps it's the season of life your in, or your upbringing, that determines your level of excitement/ involvement. We don't 'celebrate' this day. However, when I came across a meme in my social media scrolling, I did sneak a look at my emoji. Had a chuckle as it's quite true, so sharing.... Hubby is working yet another weekend (5 in a row), because he's in law enforcement that operates 24/7, yet I still feel loved. We took some small windows of time out this week to enjoy each other's company. A quick breakfast out before work/appts Sneaky beer at a local brewery while the teens supervised dinner cooking

21.01.2022 Why not embrace this social media day and take a packed lunch to enjoy outside. What would you take? Who will eat with you? Where would you go?

20.01.2022 There is more to say!

19.01.2022 With 2020 feeling like the longest year ever.....how are we going with these 3 key pillars for physical wellbeing? To be as healthy as possible, we need to be doing them. I am reminding myself, thought you might like this too!

18.01.2022 Imagine it's raining, if not actually raining at your place, what are you doing? Watching a movie OR Reading a book OR Having a nap OR... Playing a boardgame OR Getting ready for work? Our First Responders work in ALL conditions.

18.01.2022 1 week to go.....have you got anything planned yet?

18.01.2022 Reflection week 19 2021 Decision Each day we make so many decisions. Some are small, like what socks to wear. Others will be live changing (job, house, study)... The way we decide can be different. A list of pros vs cons, or perhaps just talking it out with a friend. One of the biggest decisions I feel that I made was to support my husband's dream of becoming a Police Officer. A decision I have reminded myself of a few times over the years, like a confirmation. Are you a list maker or a talk me through it kind of a decision maker? Has there been any big decisions that you have to continue to reinforce to yourself?

17.01.2022 With constantly changing rosters it's hard for our officers to know what they are working. It makes it hard to have a routine for the family. Another important aspect is that our friends are never sure when is a good time to catch up. This weekend I saw our mate asking "You working this weekend?"... From this question they managed to organise to have dinner between day shifts. Thanks for keeping on asking! See more

16.01.2022 This kind of text makes all the difference. When hubby is on a night shift and I stir, I look at my phone to check the time If I find a text, I can read it. It explains why he isn't home on time. I rollover and go back to sleep

15.01.2022 It's Just Because Day. Reminds me of the beautiful flowers a friend sent me a few years back #justbecause #policewifechronicles #kindness #lovefrom #policewifeblog #justbecauseflowers #friends #showlove #icarealot #thankyouforbeingafriend #justbecauseday

15.01.2022 Reflection - Week 20 2021 DISTRACTION I have been thinking lately about why I am starting to be late to where I am going. Sometimes it is the kids not being ready, even though I am nagging... Or I have tried to fit in one more chore before I leave. Getting dinner prep done in the mornings can help. Not if it makes you late though. Perhaps it is having too many tasks on the go at once. You know when you go to the kitchen to get something and you start cleaning up, instead of finishing off what brought you there in the first place. Yet at other times it has been because I have allowed distractions to interrupt the job at hand! How often have you found your phone or laptop in your hands? Did we quickly make a phonecall, send an email or read an article?

14.01.2022 There are often times when I find myself talking or writing in 24 hour time. I have to admit this one isn't as natural. Like a second language I suppose. I can understand it, I can talk in it, but not very fluent. It will often confuse those that have never been exposed to it, so I will revert to am/pm. There are many programs that can't cope with 24 hour time, so you need to be bi-lingual

14.01.2022 This coming Tuesday is National Police Remembrance day. There is a livestream of the National service at 4:30pm from Canberra. Check out the National Police Memorial website for the link... #nprd #nationalpoliceremembranceday #nationalpolicememorial #police #nswpolice #actpolice #victoriapolice #sapolice #ntpolice #qldpolice #taspolice #wapolice #policewifechronicles #policewifeblog #copsaretops #rememberthefallen #brave #strongcourageous #thefallen #neverforgotten

10.01.2022 There has to be some positives to sleeping alone The nights of the kids snuggling up for the night has passed Option D only works if there is no OT

10.01.2022 Some hump day humor for you all to enjoy Our daughter found this one and thought she'd share it with her Dad She loves these kind of jokes and we have a good laugh together

09.01.2022 Some impermanent art I have done since start of 2021. A friend asked me to join the #everysevendays2020 #everysevendays2021 which aims to improve mental health through creativity and connecting with nature. I have been enjoying this practise....why not skip over to Insta and follow this too

08.01.2022 Sometime's 'happy' just isn't the right word. Perhaps you worked. Or you needed the day to recover/prepare for night shift Missing your loved one through death or fractured relationship Mum filling the Dad role... Hopefully those who struggled managed to have find some joy and felt loved today #fathersday #shiftwork #dads #policewifechronicles #soloparenting #missyoudad #fatherfigures #police #dadsrule #marriedsingleparenting #policewifelife #findjoy #thinbluelineaustralia #notalwayshappy #lookforthepositive #sparkjoy

02.01.2022 Reflection - week 6 2021 FEAR What do you fear? How do you respond to this fear? Do you manage to overcome it?... Does it hold you back? Fear is a scary thing. It can make you nervous, feel physically sick, cause insomnia or even shut your body down from functioning. Each of us react differently. Flight, Fight or Freeze which one are you most likely to do when facing your fears?

02.01.2022 When asked to spell words (names, address) and someone isn't understanding I go to the Phonetic Alphabet. F is no longer for Fred, it is FOXTROT M is not Mary, nor is N for Nellie. Bob might be my uncle, but B is Bravo
