22.01.2022 Looking for someone proficient in SketchUp, and with construction/architectural knowledge to help out on a couple of jobs PM me if interested and we can chat

21.01.2022 Architecture, design, planning and visualisation...and the occasional amusing sketch

19.01.2022 An unsolicited compliment from a very very happy client after he moved into his stunning new townhouse in Newtown

18.01.2022 Small dual occupancy residential project moving into construction phase. Client very happy with design and planning permit outcome. Poligot now commissioned to provide full architectural services.

15.01.2022 It was accidentally revealed that some Council planners send out requests for further information and form an opinion on a project with even visiting the site! True!

12.01.2022 So now a planning application resisted by Council staff is "opportunistic"?

11.01.2022 The local Council (officers) say that 80% of planning applications are processed within the statutory time frame (of 60 days). I'm lucky to be elite - none on mine are! How special do I feel!

11.01.2022 A recent article in the local paper talks about creating a business friendly environment during these tough times facing the local economy. Whilst the focus of the article is large scale investment the reference to "business friendly environment" is significant. This should be a priority of the Council as far as planning approvals go. Small business is a significant employer and generator of activity in the region and is constantly frustrated by delay in the planning process.... Why should it take months to obtain a liquor licence? Why should it take months for simple change of us permits to be issued? Why does the planning department constantly adopt a negative attitude starting point? Why do some planners still provide mis-leading information? CoGG planning seriously needs to get its act together. Until that happens no amount of rhetoric is going to be helpful to the local business community See more

08.01.2022 VCAT (the State Planning Tribunal) has recently required a Council to refund planning application fees after it failed to make a decision in the prescribed time. The permit applicant took the matter to VCAT and asked VCAT to make a decision. The Tribunal directed that a permit should be granted, and the applicant's fees should be refunded.

06.01.2022 Another planning permit issued - produce sales - a small organic farm outlet selling locally grown vegetables, hand-crafted cakes and delicious meals. Another very happy client.

05.01.2022 I know I'm doing my job when I'm told not to keep mentioning the failings of a certain bureaucracy

01.01.2022 From a client ".....That's why you're the guru!! I knew you'd be right, nice to get it over the line....." Great to be acknowledged
