19.01.2022 Lets talk COVID-19. Because in all honesty its what we are all thinking about anyway. This is a snippet of what last week looked like in my kitchen, and probably the last typical week we will see for a while. This week, due to the newly imposed social distancing restrictions all our orders have cancelled, and understandably so. ... It is so so so so important for people to distance themselves to reduce the spread, and contain this awful pandemic. Here at PolkaDot Cakes we completely understand that this situation which is continuing to unfold is new ground. None of us know what will happen next or where this will take us. Because of that we are making a few changes that will last until the crisis passes, however long that takes. Firstly, we now accept bookings with just 7 days notice. Due to the shortened time frame and the restrictions we are having on obtaining supplies, cakes must be buttercream. Some elements may not be available. We will work with you the best we can to ensure you have a cake that meets our standards & your expectations! Secondly we will now offer options for contactless pick up and delivery, cashless payment is also an option. We will also offer free Delivery to the Bairnsdale area. We will continue to supply our delicious cupcakes to Aroma Coffee House & Eatery while they remain open for takeaway. There is no penalty for cancellations or postponed events. If a deposit has been made we will discuss with you whether youd like us to hold it until you have decided on new dates or would prefer a refund. This is uncharted territory and the last thing anyone needs is stress over cake! We will continue to keep you informed if any further changes occur. Stay safe, look after your loved ones

17.01.2022 Well 2020..... They say bad things happen in threes! This week Ive had to replace my oven, new oven was at least 30-40 degrees out which lead to some epic baking fails.... said new oven removed and another new oven ordered....!... Then we head back into lock down in Regional Victoria as from Thursday.... tough but necessary...oh and back to home schooling!!!! We will get through together. Yesterday my little Moo Moo broke her arm.... so lets hope thats the three things done and dusted.... That being said, I am going to take a few weeks off to get myself re-organised, re-focused and spend some quality time with the little people! So apologies if Im slow to respond in this time.

16.01.2022 Nothing like a challenge to kick off the New Year... between two trips to Melbourne this week to escape the fires in our area, I managed to roll this VW KOMBI Van out the door. Just wanted to take a moment, to thank all the brave Fire Fighters, DELWP, Parks, Police, Paramedics and all the volunteers that are working tirelessly around the clock to keep us safe in this horrendous emergency we are facing right now.
