23.01.2022 When you are gradually creeping out of an artist block, and turning imagery into a garment in honour of an artist you really respect. Sometimes the idea of pain...ting on a canvas or a piece of primed board seems scary. So we start with something different, something in a different artistic genre. This is my first Creative Isolation and Beyond project and will end up adorning a coat Illustrating the colours and images a la Frida. Watch this space. Regardless of your type of creativity have you had a type of block during the last few months? Need a place to gain support amongst others that understand? Join us. 17.01.2022 The Premier of the on-line workshop was a hit!!! Thank you so much to everyone for watching. We're so thrilled. It all went way better than expected A huge thanks to Andrew Pheasant and Karen Hudson from Jak Films for their fantastic work. What a team! On a personal note: Trudi also wanted to mention that the 15th of August is a very important day for her. On this day 75yrs ago she and her parents were freed from concentration camps in WWII on Victory Day. Every year o...n this day she fasts and has a quiet day in gratitude for freedom, food and peace. Her mission is to spread love, share her knowledge and appreciation for Mother Earth with others. She says our so called enemies then are our friends now and we need to keep peace in our own hearts to keep a peaceful world. What better way than to commune with nature and look after the earth together.. Trudi says that this day marked a new life for her 75yrs ago and this launch of her first online workshop marks a new life again. So, onto the book for Trudi now! It's coming. 04.01.2022 And that's a wrap!!! We finished filming Trudi's on-line Natural Dye course today. We've set the first session to go live with an interactive question and answer session on Saturday August 15th. It's incredibly being provided for FREE through sponsorship by the City of Armadale as a part of their Creative Isolation Project. Don't miss this opportunity to do this course for free. 02.01.2022 On behalf of the JAK team, thank you Trudi and Helena for making this shoot an absolute pleasure to work on. We will never forget the laughs, the stories, solvi...ng the world's problems over homemade soup beside the crackling wood fire...oh yeah, we did a lot of work too. Next phase 'Captured by Colour' the book. We've had a few setbacks over the last 18 months; a giant python falling from a great height onto Trudi's head, major surgery and not least COVID-19. But it's all systems go now... We're going to start by sharing some of the stories that won't be in the book. I think we'll begin with the snake story. Watch this space... See more
