20.01.2022 A wonderful occasion today as our new senior women’s team held their first training session. A very enthusiastic group, the session was great fun, we’re thrilled to have them become part of the Pomborneit CC family. Preparations for the 2020/21 season are now well underway, earlier today the senior men commenced their pre-season, while the Under 16 boys started training on Thursday. Well done to all our players who have turned up and done a great job in being compliant with the COVID protocols. #gopombobulls

17.01.2022 Announcement | South West Cricket would like to announce a number of key details for the 2020/21 season. Division one - 18 round season featuring 16 games and t...wo byes per club starting on October 17 with play fixtured on October 24; play will recommence on January 9 after Christmas. Divisions two - 16 round season starting on October 17; a week’s break will be scheduled on October 24; play will resume on January 16 from the Christmas break. Division three - 16 round season featuring 14 games and two byes per club starting on October 17; a week’s break will be scheduled on October 24; play will resume on January 16 from the Christmas break. Semi finals and grand finals for all senior grades will be March 6 and 13, with March 20 the reserve weekend. The Twenty20 competition will be a midweek knockout tournament before Christmas, with a start date still to be confirmed. The Under 16s competition will start on Sunday, October 18 with finals to be held on February 28 and March 7. We endeavour to have fixtures completed as soon as possible and would like to express our appreciation and say thanks to our clubs for their patience in determining start dates as well as the receival of Cricket Victoria’s Return to Play guidelines. 16.01.2022 A big day for our women’s teams, with Pomborneit ‘A’ playing their first ever game, 10 of the 11 players making their debut for the club at the Pomborneit Recreation Reserve, while Pomborneit took on Bookaar at the Frederick St Oval. Both games were rain affected, Pomborneit defeating Bookaar under the wet weather rules, while Pomborneit ‘A’ went down to Irrewarra Youth under the same rules. 10.01.2022 A game played in great spirit tonight between the Pomborneit Gold Under 13’s and Woorndoo at the Pomborneit Recreation Reserve. A big welcome to Hugo Chivell (pictured) who played his first game for the club and acquitted himself well, making 2 runs, taking a wicket and hitting the stumps for a direct hit run out. Top scorers were Gavin Reynolds with 32, Patrick Spokes with 14 & Max Rees with 8, while Jonty Raven, who put his hand up to open the batting, did a great job in ...making an impressive 7. With the ball, Max Rees took 2 wickets, with a wicket each to Patrick Spokes, Hugo Chivell, Harry Jenkins, Noah Boyd and Marc Van Es. 02.01.2022 A huge day of female cricket at the club today, with the Under 14 girls hosting Irrewarra, followed by the Pomborneit women’s team playing Pomborneit A, the first Pomborneit v Pomborneit match in over 20 years. The girls team continue to show great improvement and did well against a strong Irrewarra team. Amy Dempsey made her debut for the club in the Pomborneit A team, becoming our women’s cap number 22. ... A good win to the Pomborneit team, Sam LaFranchi continuing her good form with the bat, making 36 not out, the new record score, while Nellie Sadler took our first ever women’s 5 for, with 5/6 off 3.2 overs.
