25.01.2022 || FLASH BACK FRIDAY || Today we look back on a unique project that we had the pleasure of delivering The Qantas Simulator Building and Qantas Crew Training Building! Qantas Flight Training plays a vital part in their outstanding reputation by providing aircrew with skills that go beyond standard aviation requirements. Qantas Flight Training operates purpose built facilities where pilots and flight attendants benefit from high level practical and theoretical training. The c...entres contain flight simulators, aircraft cabin mock-ups, ditching pools and multimedia learning centres. The simulators have as standard state of the art visual fidelity, motion and sound. This allows crew to be trained in all aspects of normal and non-normal operations; including instrument approaches and land-ings in all weather conditions. Pomeroy staff attended both facilities and were guests in the fuselage being served meals and bever-ages on simulated flights.



22.01.2022 Associate Director, Jonathan Gioldasis shares his favourite saying which was quoted by Plato as being said by Greek philosopher Socrates. ‘’There are many ways to interpret and apply this saying or those similar, but how I apply it is in the context that a wise person understands that there is always more to learn than they already know.’’ Jonathan explains that a wise person also understands that they may be mistaken about something they think they know and are certain about, so he uses this saying to ensure he always has an open mind and continues to learn.

Vlora holds a Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) from RMIT and has almost 10 years’ experience working in the industry. 14.01.2022 || PART 1 Burnham Beeches || Located in Sherbrooke, 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD, lies an iconic art deco mansion, also known as Burnham Beeches. Built in 1933 for the Nicholas family, the house was designed by Melbourne architect Harry Norris. Harry was known for a number of other recognisable buildings including the David Jones Store (former Coles) on Bourke Street. The design sits uniquely at the midpoint between the decorative zigzag Moderne of the 1920s. The vast thr...ee storey house, built in reinforced concrete, is a rare, elaborate example of up-to-the-minute high style living and entertaining of the 1930s in Australia. As well as the mansion the estate contains significant gardens containing a mix of indigenous and exotic plantings and a rolling rural landscape totaling 56.142 acres. A large extent of the garden is now known as the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens and is managed by Parks Victoria. Alfred Nicholas had only lived for a few years at the property when he passed away in 1937 and the family offered up the home for use as a 50 bed children’s hospital between the years of 1941 and 1944, seeing some alterations undertaken to the building. The house was vacant between 1944 and 1948 before Alfred Nicholas’s widow returned to residence in 1949 following renovations and refurbishment. In 1955 the house was leased to the Nicholas Institute (part of Alfred Nicholas’s business run by his son, Maurice) who operated their medical and veterinary research at the site until 1981. We are pleased to be involved in the transformation of this abandoned mansion into one of Australia’s greatest boutique hotel and premium tourist destinations. Pomeroy Pacific are providing development and project management services and Pomeroy Capital are assisting with the investor and funder sourcing.

Yeshivah - Beth Rivkah Colleges, Elsternwick The Trade Skills Centre is a striking two level, integrated commercial cooking training centre comprising state of the art facilities, widescreen instructional system, separate meat and milk kitchens and a rooftop level containing a BBQ area, break-out areas and a vegetable and herb garden. ... The Beth Rivkah Primary Wing is a space smart, five level building comprising adjustable classrooms, a modern library suitable for assembly and a sheltered play area on ground floor. The basement level is connected to the school by means of an open amphitheater, great for general play, theatre and announcement. Pomeroy Pacific’s understanding of construction within operational school environments and ability to delivery revolutionary educational design led to the appointment for these two prestigious community projects

Within walking distance to the Elwood foreshore and Elsternwick Park & Golf Club, Element is a boutique residential development of 83 one and two bedroom apartments over 10 levels. A selection of European delicatessens and bakeries, contemporary cafés and specialist shops are right on residents’ doorsteps. The development also included commercial offices and retail... shops amidst the lively Glenthuntly Road Village.
