23.01.2022 LIBRARY BOOKS DRIVE DONATION TO THE PONDS HIGH SCHOOL What a tiring but very rewarding day driving around spent the day collecting all 15 boxes of Library books from St. Andrew College then our 2nd Vice District Governor Elect Paul McInnes and I had another tasks of delivering and donating them to The Ponds High School to add them towards their library collections. Good to know the books will be put to good news towards the students education. Thanks to St. Andrew Co...llege School for giving us all their Library books. Well done Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc always finding ways to help and served the community. Our body aches now from carrying and lifting all the boxes but it's worth all the effort. 23.01.2022 BLACKTOWN PONDS LIONS CLUB INC have done their 2nd Food Drive Collection on 10th October 2020 and this time received more than expected filling up our trailer with more than 108 grocery boxes. St. Vinnies Manager Nazreen was so overwhelmed with our food collection. Aldi Manager was so happy and thanked us saying not only does it boost their sales by being there it also tightened their security minimizing their loss. Nice to know we made them happy It was so unbelievab...le with the kind of public response we had received we can't thank the public enough for their generosity. Some even donated a trolley full of clothes and other items God bless you all in threefold Most of all thanks to our hardworking BLACKTOWN PONDS LIONS CLUB INC members spearheaded by Paul McInnes for contributing their precious time . 19.01.2022 BLACKTOWN PONDS LIONS CLUB INC have done their 1st Food Drive Collection today 12th September 2020 and we filled up our trailer with more than 85 grocery boxes and end up storing some in the boot of our cars as we ran out of storage. Aldi Manager complained they ran out of Tuna , pasta and canned goods and wants to know when we are coming back so they can increase their non perishable stocks. The wine tasting was first class at Nightingale Winery and we all enjoyed our stay thoroughly We all had a great time We would certainly highly recommend for everyone to visit Nightingale Winery and stay at their exclusive villas. 09.01.2022 Its almost been a month since our office was damaged in a fire from a neighbouring building. With the boardroom, bathrooms and kitchen badly damaged and the re...st of the office affected by smoke and water, we made the decision to find a temporary location while repairs are underway. We are pleased to now be fully operational at our temporary location in Broadmeadow, Newcastle. Our team have worked hard to ensure a smooth transition given the somewhat challenging circumstances. Club Supplies is now back up and running and we would like to thank those waiting on orders for your patience during this time. Thank you to Little Green Frog for our new (temporary) signage! 09.01.2022 Oh what a wonderful night we had on our Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc 2020 Changeover Dinner on 23rd of July . Welcome to all our New Officers 2020 - 2021. District Governor Jon Copson inducted our Incoming Board Members and IPDG Jennifer Touzel inducted our 9 new members. Thanks to everyone who came gracing us with all your presence and everyone seems to have had a great night amidst the OVID - 19 observing social distancing rules sending paper planes to the next tab...le when communicating. Most of all thanks to all our Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc members who work so tirelessly hard throughout the whole year. Looking back at our President Rissa McInnes reports and power point presentation compiled by Chartered President Paul McInnes on that night it is unbelievably unimaginable that together our club we all had achieved so much in such a short time in just a period of 4 years we had donated locally and internationally a whopping AUD$377,000 + short of our AUD$400,000 target constraints due to COVID - 19 pandemic crisis ! Each and everyone of our members deserves a pat on the back and all credits goes to all of our members, supporters and sponsors. Our club had endured a lot of trials and tribulations but as the year went by we grow continuously stronger together from strength to strength. 04.01.2022 Today we went to pick up the loan Cocoon Temperature Management Warming System Blanket at Taren Point for Mr. Gaudenzio who suffers from a rare blood disorder called Agglutinins. Its a disorder that causes his blood to coagulate which affects his extremities with reduced blood flow. The winter cold weather aggravates his condition further. The blood becomes a sticky mass and blocks the veins which causes dry gangrene with possible amputation. We would like to thank Aus...tralian Lions Foundation for giving Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc. the grant to purchase the machine and cocoon blanket. Unfortunately, due to COVID - 19 there was a delay in delivering the new machine. Thanks to the supplier for the loan machine who urgently responded to the needs of our beneficiary particularly during winter. The look on Mr. Gaudencio face and wife Betty was priceless when we made the delivery. Makes all the traveling for more than 2 hours worthwhile. 01.01.2022 BLACKTOWN PONDS LIONS CLUB INC members doing Food Drive Collection at Stanhope Shopping Centre outside Aldi Superstore. Thanks to the generosity of the public ...donating non-perishable food. We collected more than 88 big boxes. Our beneficiary is Mary's Pantry located at the Parish Church in Blacktown. They are open 5 days in a week where the needy people received the food donation. Thanks to Stanhope Shopping Center Management and ALDI for allowing us to continue helping and serving the community.
