24.01.2022 Cottage kitchen to the garden. The weather is too good to eat inside.

24.01.2022 So today we went on a fantastic adventure. We drove 45mins from the cottage to New Norfolk (to the meeting point in Bushy Park to be precise). Met with our guide for the day ‘Liam’ the owner & founder of Tassie Bound Adventure Tours, for the Derwent River Rapids Tour. Liam is a great guy and a wealth of knowledge. A few hours on the river and let me just say we are hooked. Stunning, exciting and peaceful moments meld together gracefully. Briefly spotted a few platypus and 2 Wedge Tail Eagles. Gorgeous day!! The weather was spectacular and the views, oh the views. Unbelievable!! I highly recommend you treat yourself to one of these river experiences. Take a look at some pics of our day.

23.01.2022 A little cloudy and cool this morning but at least it’s not raining. Little miss 8 and I turned right out of the cottage driveway across the main bridge into town, walked around the 4 streets in the middle of town and then back the other way across the river and bank from the left of our driveway. It’s a lovely walk. Here’s some of what we saw on the way.

20.01.2022 Wow, what a day. And we have arrived at Summertime cottage in Southport. Beautiful coastal view.

18.01.2022 Our destination this evening is Southport, past Geeveston and Huonville, way down south. Saw this cute little bike outside a wool/craft shop in Geeveston and thought it fitting that I take a photo as the reason we are tripping around all over Tassie is because there are two lovely ladies staying in the cottage this weekend for the Bothwell Spin In. A celebration of all things wool related.

18.01.2022 The view of the Clyde river from the back yard, cool winters day.

17.01.2022 The Clyde river runs through Bothwell, just behind the cottage. Tried our hand at fishing just before a lovely pink sunset.

15.01.2022 I’ve been missing Tassie so much the last few months and hubby really needed a break from work. Our children hadn’t actually been to the cottage for a few years now (Seems we’ve had a few weekend escapes without the kids) so we jumped at the chance for a last minute break during the school holidays. We flew into Hobart on Friday, Tigerair this time around, a great flight I might add, even arrived early. After stopping at the grocery store it was straight to Bothwell.

10.01.2022 After a night in the quiet bay of Southport, were on the road again. Southport has nil ph reception and vague wifi, so if it's a zen escape your after listening to the ocean this is the place. Drove into Cockle Creek. Quiet basic camping by the bay. Simply stunning

07.01.2022 The perfect end to the day. Fresh apple pie and Tassie Pinot Noir

07.01.2022 Even with a few roadworks on the highway we made it to Hobart in 2 and a half hours. Drove a bit further to Kingston Beach to have lunch with other friends. Kingston beach by the way is a beautiful little beach town. Glorious views.

04.01.2022 The 'Clyde river' just behind Pooh cottage

03.01.2022 Hi everyone. I know some of you may not have been to Tassie before so while we are here I'll put a few photos up. Well first things first. We bought our flights about a month and a half ago on Jetstar Airways. Always check their Friday afternoon specials. Flights Brisbane to Tassie were $89 each way. Yay So we decided this time to fly into Launceston. A stop over night and dinner with friends and we were on our way down the Heritage Highway to Hobart.

02.01.2022 On the road again!!! Decided to stop in Huonville for lunch and oh so glad we did. Huon Manor is a small family run restaurant in a beautiful old building. Fresh produce and fresh seafood. Highly recommended. And finally ........... We're home
