12.02.2022 We're absolutely delighted to have our 2020 Cooinda Vale 'Oronsay' Pinot Noir receive a shimmering 96 points from Huon Hooke! Our Butcher's Hill and Cooinda Vale Oronsay Pinot Noirs are a wonderful tribute to the RMS Oronsay, the ship that brought the Pooley family to Australia in the early 1950s. Our 2020 Cooinda Vale Oronsay Pinot Noir is a true extension of our terroir with wild ferments, 100% whole bunches, and extended time in 50% new oak before release. ... A limited number of bottles are still available to purchase via our Cellar Door and online shop.

24.01.2022 Halliday Wine Companion 2021 has recently awarded our 2019 Margaret Pooley Tribute Riesling 96 points. This Single Vineyard Riesling is from our Cooinda Vale Vineyard, hand-picked with some deliberate skin contact in the context of a cool ferment. Named after our co-founder Margaret Pooley, this elegant Riesling is a great testament to the wine variety Margaret loved most. Experience aromas of apple blossom, jasmine and delicate citrus, with a richer mouth texture, green apple acidity and a saline finish. With great balance and length of flavour this will cellar for 15 years plus or just enjoy its freshness now. https://www.pooleywines.com.au//2019-margaret-pooley-trib/

23.01.2022 Rachel shares with us the new release 100% whole bunch fermented Oronsay Pinot Noirs, now available at Cellar Door and online https://www.pooleywines.com.au/purchase/

22.01.2022 Did you know our Cellar Door welcomes dogs? That we would mean we are doggo friendly at Pooley! Water is always out and all we ask is you keep your pup on its lead and with you while you sup!

20.01.2022 Delighted to begin the The Real Review's Live Chardonnay Tasting with our 2019 Cooinda Vale Chardonnay. We're so glad it woke up your taste buds Bob! Our winemaker Anna Pooley recommends matching this chardonnay with pan seared ocean trout, beurre blanc sauce and potato dauphinoise. Delicious... https://youtu.be/-8gv7mHjpSo

19.01.2022 With spring well and truly underway, the news from the vineyard is that it’s all systems go. It has been a very distinct start to spring and the vines are showing a nice even bursting from the consistent rainfall we have been receiving. At Cooinda Vale the clover in the mid-rows and organic blocks are charging. This is great to see as it is a low laying, ground covering, nitrogen fixing species that attracts loads of bees when it flowers. This is all natural and shows just what our amazing souls are capable of when we removed harsh chemicals from the system. Vintage 2021 is looking good so far!

15.01.2022 Our winemaker Anna Pooley took time out to share her reflections on the 2019 Jack Denis Pooley vintage and our latest pinot noir release. Celebrating the history of our family and founders, this wine truly reflects the legacy of its namesake. https://www.pooleywines.com.au//17-2019-jack-denis-pooley/

15.01.2022 Here's one from the archives! We recently found a photograph from one of the first photoshoots Margaret and Denis had for their wine! Our labels have changed significantly however the Pooley family insignia has always remained. We're often asked what "Certum Pete Finem" means on our family crest. It roughly translates from Latin to 'Seek A Certain End', a philosophy the Pooley family has held for generations to always strive for perfection and to achieve their goals. Certainly, a motto to value and live by!

14.01.2022 #PooleyVintage2021 is officially wrapped up and what a sweet way to finish! This week, we picked the very last of our fruit at Butcher’s Hill with our Cane Cut Riesling now off the vine. With a cooler, late vintage, the cane cut technique allowed us to intensify the flavour and sweetness of our riesling by cutting the cane of the vine from its water source and leaving the fruit to dehydrate. We can’t wait for you to try it! #uglydelicious

31.12.2021 Is it that time of year already?! With the amazing sunshine and heat we’ve been experiencing, we’re starting to see some significant changes across our vineyards in preparation for #vintage2022! Pictured here are some of our pinot noir grapes from Butcher’s Hill starting to go through veraison. Veraison is one of the most important moments in the annual lifecycle of a vine which signifies the onset of ripening, changing of colour, and natural sweetening of the berries. This signifies one of the final stages of the growing season before harvest!
