22.01.2022 You add algaecide to your pool because it prevents it from turning green, but have you ever wondered how it actually works? Traditionally, sanitiser alone was ...used to treat and control algae. But as the species became more diverse and resistant, it was proving to be less effective. Along came algaecides, which were developed to work in conjunction with your sanitiser to destroy algae spores present in your pool water. The product is designed to counter the defence mechanisms algae has developed to protect itself, causing the cells to fail - killing the plant. This trusty algae killer works hard to keep your pool water healthy and crystal clear! And is step number 3 in our proven BioGuard 3 Step Program. Discover our full range of algaecides here https://tinyurl.com/yyzuhtas

16.01.2022 Its about to get hot To make sure your pool can keep up with the chlorine demand from the heat and extra bather load, we recommend increasing your chlorine. Our Burn out extreme not only will increase your chlorine but has a clarifier and an oxidiser in it aswell.

16.01.2022 Make sure to check your pump basket for cracks and replace as soon as possible. The cracked plastic can make its way into the impeller of your pump and cause issues with how your pump operates. It can also cause your pump to run dry due to not being able to pull water through, this can lead to a melted impeller and internals.

15.01.2022 Theres a storm coming ! Prepare your pool to prevent from turning green! To do this you can simply add a Burn Out Extreme , this will raise your chlorine and with an added bonus it also has a clarifier in it to help coagulate any fine particles that the strong winds blow in ... It is also a good opportunity to give your filter a really good backwash to flush out some water to make room for rain water, we dont want your pool to overfill as this can cause major damage.

13.01.2022 If you have a sand filter never have your filter handle on the Closed section whilst running your pool ! As you can see this can cause a lot of problems, the water has no where to go but it will find a way to release itself. It can blow out the pump or blow out your pipe work ! Also while backwashing your filter never turn the handle on the filter while the pump is running

12.01.2022 Salt Water Pool Fact! Approximately 80% of pools in Australia and New Zealand are salt water pools! A salt cell (salt water chlorinator) generates unstabilised... chlorine which means the chlorine rapidly diminishes when exposed to sunlight UV rays. BioGuard Salt Pool Stabiliser forms a shield against sunlight to extend the life of the generated chlorine and maximise the life of your salt water chlorinator. See more

10.01.2022 Cleaning your salt cell Do’s and DONTS ! Never clean your cell in straight acid !... The cell ratio is 1:10 so 100mls acid to 1 litre of water. The reasoning behind this is that a strong mixture of acid will burn the titanium coating off your cell plates, this will reduce the amount of chlorine your cell is able to produce. Cleaning it in a strong acid solution will also Void any warranty you may have on that cell. Also never use anything metal to scrape the calcium off this will again scratch the coating off the plates. If you feel the need to use something to help remove the calcium. Use a pop stick or plastic picnic knife. When cleaning your cell always make sure your terminals are clean and tight, a little bit of emery paper can help with this. We have clean a cell jugs that can help assist you with your acid ratio and they also come with a little plastic pick to help with calcium

09.01.2022 Friendly reminder to empty your pump basket regularly If this isnt done often it can block the pump and cause the internals to melt. When you clean it out make sure theres no cracks in the basket or lid and to go the extra mile line your oring with a silicone base lubricant

07.01.2022 Is your cleaner becoming sticky? This could be because your chlorine is to high. As the temperature cools down your pool doesnt need as much chlorine. This ...is due to there is less bather load, less evaporation and less harsh sun rays using the chlorine. Your chlorine should be sitting in between 3-5ppm However if you have a blanket on your chlorine needs to be lower as the chlorine will build under the blanket, its will need to sit more towards 3ppm If you would like to test your chlorine to make sure your not doing damage to your equipment or blanket just pop into the shop for a free water analysis

07.01.2022 Is your cartridge filter clean ? Make sure to clean your cartridge regularly. If it’s a little yellow pop into the shop and ask for a filter cleaner to break down all those nastys in your filter and bring it back to life .

07.01.2022 Would you believe there is a skimmer box under all this debris ! Make sure you clean your skimmer box out regularly, when a skimmer box is this full there is no water flow. As a result your pump will run dry and can cause major damage. We also recommend to use a skimmer sock to prevent small debris passing into your pumps impeller.

06.01.2022 Sick of filling your pool up from evaporation ? Check out this new blanket Saves water evaporation which saves on chemicals ... Stops debris from going into the pool Come into store for a quote

06.01.2022 POOL MYTH: I dont need to check my pool when Im not using it. MYTH BUSTED: Your pool remains active even when youre not in it! Bacteria, algae and unbalanced... water can cause a variety of problems if you are not paying attention. During the cooler months it seems like the pool is dormant, but thats a myth! Although you may not notice any issues in your pool, without regular water testing (at least once a month), you will not be able to prevent problems that might be ready to explode (hello: green pool) when the temperature warms up! 05.01.2022 Don’t let your lead kit to your chlorinator look like this. Make sure your terminals are always clean and tight, a bit of sandpaper can help with this. Don’t twist your cables.... Twisted cables and dirty or loose connections will create heat and can melt your cell head, it can also cause issues to the mainboard of your chlorinator. When you clean your salt cell fortnightly, have a little care for your lead kit aswell this will give you a longer life for both your cell and chlorinator

05.01.2022 Is your pool ready for the long weekend ? Come in and see how you can get your pool crystal clear Are you going to have a lot of people swim ? ... 02.01.2022 What a beautiful little oasis Make sure to use a skimmer sock to catch fine debris to ensure it doesnt go into your pump if you have heavy gardens around your pool

02.01.2022 We all know I love a good sparkle ! If you do aswell pop in and ask about our clarifier products. Good clarity is also due to your filter and the filter media you have and how old it is, it is also how often you are backwashing you’re filter. Backwashing should be done weekly to increase the life of your sand/glass in your filter. ... If your clarity just does not come back and the pressure on your filter runs high even after a back wash, you may need a media change

02.01.2022 Friendly reminder to empty your pump basket regularly If this isn’t done often it can block the pump and cause the internals to melt. When you clean it out make sure there’s no cracks in the basket or lid and to go the extra mile line your oring with a silicone base lubricant
