24.01.2022 The simple yet superb design of this grand 13m-long pool on Sydney’s Northern Beaches was inspired by both the style of the home and the expansive property belonging to a large family that loves to entertain. They requested a grand space that works in harmony with their house, and Kookaburra Pool Constructions has more than delivered on their vision. Before the pool was updated, the oversized farmhouse-style home was the central feature of the property and the existing pool ...was simply an afterthought. We transformed the pool area into one of the most important features of the house, explains Alex, owner of Kookaburra Pool Constructions. It’s now an awesome open entertaining space. The result is a traditional-style pool, in terms of the shape, materials and colours used. The way that the pool has been styled with white tiles and silver travertine works very well with the modern flow of the house, says Alex. The style of the home is very impressive and complements the pool. It really is a grand pool for a grand property. According to Alex, what really stands out in this project is the pool’s size. It’s a really large family-style entertaining pool it’s 3m deep at one end, he says. Additionally, the choice of interior pool tiles projects a particular colour that I really like. The homeowners also had a cabana added adjacent to the pool. This has seamlessly tied elements of the project together, with the same travertine used inside the cabana to match the pool surrounds. Kookaburra Pool Constructions worked closely in conjunction with the cabana builders, Red Oak Carpentry, Northern Beaches Specialist Carpentry and Reitsma. It was a collaboration; we all had to work alongside each other to make it come together, says Alex. To allow for more space by the cabana, the existing waterslide was moved to the opposite side of the pool. A huge barn was also built. Behind the pool, a tennis court was previously hidden by overgrown palm trees and thick foliage. The owners had all of this removed, creating an open area and a backyard that flows. The property now has a really nice feel to it, adds Alex.
