05.01.2022 It's green pool season. Over the next few weeks is a real danger to the health of your water, if you haven't had a water test recently now is the time. We have already been inundated with green pool recoveries. So here is some tips. First, obviously get a water test. Second, make sure you have some copper in your water, as algae feed on copper and die. Third, adjust your pump run time and/or chlorine production to be ready for the season. Fourth, make sure your stabiliser lev...el is around 50ppm. And finally, keep on top of your pH by regular acid addition (diluted HCl thrown over the surface of the pool). If in doubt about anything, call us or bring in a water sample to get advice. The average green pool recovery is $1500. The preventative maintenance is generally around $150. Pumps have a flow rate, filters have a maximum flow rate they can handle. If the pump is too big then a multitude of problems arise.
