09.01.2022 Do you know when your salt water chlorinator cell has stopped being effective? Salt water chlorinators have a cell which produces chlorine. Typically the cell produces champagne bubbles which indicates that it's working. Cells have a life of around 5 years, after which they stop producing chlorine. As the weather gets warmer, your chlorinator has to produce more chlorine. With this increase in demand, the older cells often can't cope and fail.... A sign that your cell or chlorinator is not effective is typically when chlorine is added to a pool and the cell doesn't produces champagne bubbles.
