20.01.2022 Just an update CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) COMMUNITY TENNIS GUIDELINES FOR CONTINUED PLAY 2 APRIL 2020 2 April 2020 | Tennis SA 0 7 As per recent updates, at this stage outdoor tennis courts can continue to be used in South Australia subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being implemented, however sporting clubrooms should not be opened to the public until further notice. This information is in line with a directive put in place by South Australian State Co...ordinator, Commissioner Stevens on Monday 30 March (available here), including an exemption allowing outdoor sporting and recreational venues, such as golf courses, tennis courts and playing fields to be used. Strong advice is also now in place that outdoor gatherings should be of no more than two people, with an absolute maximum of 10 people. We all know tennis is a unique sport with many benefits the main one being health and wellbeing. The COVID-19 Community Tennis Guidelines for Continued Play provide details on how outdoor courts can remain open for use to help ensure people remain active, subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being implemented. Tennis clubs, coaches and operators across the country are all different and operate in different local contexts. They are also independent organisations and businesses. Making an assessment of whether a safe exercise environment can be provided also depends on a range of factors, which will apply differently at each venue it is the responsibility of each coach, club and operator to make that assessment based on their local environment. And please dont share drink bottles etc. Tennis is played in open space, with a relatively small gathering and plenty of distance between competitors. 07.01.2022 Dear Tennis SA Affiliated Clubs and Associations Thank you for your patience as we have continued to work through the COVID-19 restrictions affecting our sport. Unfortunately we are not providing the update we were hoping for today. Following extensive discussions with SAPOL and SA Health, SA Health have formally confirmed that the Direction explicitly identifies indoor or outdoor community sports fixtures and trainings as a restricted public activity, which includes tennis coaching. Whilst we are disappointed, we understand and accept the decision that has been made. We are also grateful that these restrictions are only expected to be in place until Tuesday 1 December (subject to change).

03.01.2022 COVID UPDATE Hello tennis community! Unfortunately, regarding the state of tennis, the current direction stands that competition and training cease until review on 1 December, 2020. The courts will NOT be open for use as a Covid marshal needs to be in attendance at all times. We would encourage use of a local court open to public (which is allowable). However, please keep a check here, as there may be odd updates as information comes.... Thanks for your understanding. Pooraka tennis See more

03.01.2022 COVID update Tuesday 17th of November All competition is cancelled this weekend. A further update on this next week. The directive at present is all organized sport is cancelled.....this currently includes coaching. You can go to a park that has a court for a hit, but that’s all we know so far.
