02.01.2022 What a fantastic decision made by the State Library to remove all late fees $$ from overdue books! The reason the pop up library was so successful was because to barriers to state library borrowing like incurred bills and fees. To have these removed now reaches a demographic that is in most need of a library (cant afford to buy books) and surely cant afford fees and charges. There is a myriad of reasons why books are late, lack of transport, access to funds to travel..... and poverty should not be compounded because of library rules!! I’m chuffed that this sensibility thinking has permeated our library system!! Well done! Free books for all!!
