16.01.2022 There is always some good in a bad situation... The slowdown has seen air quality improving in China, the water in Venice's canals appear to be clearing up as sediments drop to the depths and schools of fish can be seen, with birdlife coming back to waterways in usually crowded cities. It seems the planet now has a chance to take a big, deep breath as we humans unanimously press the pause button on production, consumption, and travel. Once this is all 'over' and we return to ...life as we once knew (pre-CoVid-19), I wonder if we could all slow-down for, say, 2 weeks every year? Every country in the world to just STOP. We could call it an "Annual Earth Recovery" event or something...! A time where humans go into a winter hibernation...to disconnect in order to reconnect, slow down our lives, feed the soul...it could do wonders for our health as well as the planet's! See more

12.01.2022 Necessity is the mother of invention...or the facilitator of new opportunities... We’ve heard of breweries using their waste alcohol to make hand sanitisers and perfumeries converting their production to meet the world’s demand for hand sanitation...now this! The fashion industry has certainly had its ups and downs in the vulnerable retail world so it’s good to see a company retain its workforce to solve a critical shortage in medical supplies. We need to keep our healthca...re workers safe and keep more people employed. I wonder what other companies can find opportunities to innovate and survive in these trying times? https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//ab5782e93e4d47c585e46e9

12.01.2022 As our team move into our third? fourth? week of isolation: working from home or juggling work and homeschooling, we can’t help but think about all the businesses heavily impacted by these ongoing restrictions. Those who are still open or trading on reduced hours would be relying on social media and other online services more than ever. However, for those who have temporarily ceased trading...there is no better time than NOW to skill up (many councils are offering free busin...ess webinars), update the website or social media channels, review the business’ branding, renovate or rearrange the shop layout, update the shopfront...and never stop engaging with your customers. This little graphic we prepared a couple of weeks ago still holds relevance so we thought we’d share. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay connected - we are all in this together.

01.01.2022 Hello everyone, What a time we are all going through! CC here and like everyone, we are all understandably distracted and concerned about what lies ahead for every business, industry, sector, person. As a business owner who works predominantly with small business owners and retailers...we feel and see the uncertainty - especially in the already fragile retail industry. So what can we do? Band together and connect (or reconnect) with our local community holds even deeper meani...ng right now. Buying local, supplying local and delivering local supports those who in turn can support us back. As the crisis unfolds, opportunities could arise for businesses to innovate - explore creative ways to provide for the immediate community’s needs. And throughout all this, we and I’m sure local government, will look at ways to prepare and support businesses through the recovery process. Let’s keep having the big conversations (maybe over Skype/Zoom/FaceTime) on how we can support each other, build resilience, survive. CoVid-19 will be a true test of our nation’s leadership, our humanity and our ability to work together to flatten that curve. Let’s help each other out - don’t hold back now on acts of kindness! In the meantime, I love this little graphic reposted from @commondeer! Thank you @samahcho for sharing it! See more

01.01.2022 If pandemics are the new norm...then what opportunities could arise from the new shut-in economy as regular calls for social distancing becomes a standard part of our way of life? https://www.technologyreview.com//coronavirus-pandemic-s/
