11.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! Here's to another year movie related madness, and hopefully more reviews than ever before. My resolution you may ask? Well, I've been giving that a lot of thought, and I've decided to only review movies that I seen in theatres, or that I feel truly deserve coverage, just to ease my self-imposed workload. I don't want to feel obligated to review anything I'm not really passionate about, so that's how I'm gonna operate things from now on. I want to do this as much for myself as I do it for you guys. My first review of the New Year? You'll just have to wait and see...
02.01.2022 "Sing" Review! "When you've reached rock bottom, there's only one way to go, and that's up!" - Buster Moon In a city populated entirely by animals, Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey), an effervescent and infallibly optimistic Koala, who runs what remains of a once prestigious theatre, has hit rock bottom. Productions go horribly awry, bank payments are well overdue, and dwindling interest in the art of the stage show are but a few of the issues that face the marsupial manage...Continue reading
02.01.2022 I may not have known Carrie Fisher personally, and I can never pretend that she's had any real impact in my life, but my thoughts and prayers are with her family in this challenging time. She was a talented writer, an unmatchable script doctor, a fantastic actor, and a bright, happy soul, and without her, I may not have a review page in which to share these thoughts. Her untimely death is just one of many that have occurred throughout the year, but none have effected me in quite the same way. Her role in the "Star Wars" saga is one that I'll never forget, and one that I'm sure millions will remember, from now, until the end of time. Thanks for everything Carrie. You'll always be our Princess.
01.01.2022 I'll have a review of "Rogue One - A Star Wars Story" ready for you guys in the coming days, would love to see it again to fully come to terms with how I feel about it. I will however, say this. "Rogue One" is complete cinematic magic, even more so than last year's "The Force Awakens" is, and is a viewing experience I will never forget. If you don't see it on a big screen, you're doing yourself a total disservice. "Arrival" may be the best movie of the year, without a shadow of a doubt, but "Rogue One" has toppled it as my definite favourite of the year.
01.01.2022 "La La Land" Review! "This is the dream! It's conflict and it's compromise, and it's very, very exciting!" - Sebastian For Mia (Emma Stone), it's just another day of sun in the sprawling city of Los Angeles, where aspiring writers, producers, and actresses such as herself go to make it big in the ever elusive world of Hollywood. From undergoing countless failed auditions, to serving coffee on a film production lot, primarily to the same brand of celebrity she hopes to one da...Continue reading
