10.02.2022 And they're off! ROTARY DOWN UNDER CENTENARY CYCLE RIDE - SOUTH WEST & GREAT SOUTHERN REGIONS - 12 MAY TO 22 MAY 2021 kicked off today on a very rainy mornin...g! To celebrate Rotary's 100 Years Down Under, a group of cyclists from the South Bunbury Rotary Club are riding through the South West and Great Southern. They're linking with other Rotary clubs across the region to commemorate Rotary's long history of service in our local communities, as well as raising money for bush fire relief. The group of 10 riders and backup, will ride 750km visiting the towns Busselton, Margaret River, Nannup, Bridgetown, Manjimup, Mount Barker, Albany, Kojonup, Katanning, Wagin, Darkan and Collie. Events to celebrate 100 Years of Rotary Down Under have been arranged with Rotary clubs en route. Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan gave an encouraging send-off to the riders wishing them well for the ride. Margaret Robertson, President of Rotary Club of Bunbury Western Australia came along to wish everyone well. Many other South Bunbury Rotary Club members, including President Peter Hill, donned rain jackets and also came along to support and cheer the riders on. There were interviews with the South West Times and GWN - if you're around tonight, I'm told we should watch GWN at around 5.30pm to see the TV segment about the ride.
