20.01.2022 Hello Friends, Don't forget tonight is American BBQ night, as last night we had a private function and Chef refused to cancel BBQ night (He's now on Santa's naughty list... well he's always on that list so no change really). This weekend though we are having our traditional "Nothing but Specials Extravaganza", as we try to get rid of everything before closing down for the next few weeks. The menu will be released tomorrow, but all dishes will be $25, and well worth the price.... So come in a celebrate another end of a great year at Poppies and the Upwey Belgrave RSL. 11.01.2022 Hello Friends, Poppies has moved to a new menu for the current period. We will remain trading, in a couple of different ways. The Bistro is being remodeled to meet the social distancing regulations for different dining groups. The menu is available now for take away and includes take away alcohol, which our liquor license permits. We are arranging delivery drivers, and are getting this in place as quickly as possible. So even if you are at home, you can still enjoy one of our... meals. Take care, keep well, be kind to each other! Chef Grant

09.01.2022 Well folk, another year of Poppies over. Kitchen all cleaned and squared away, and my team and I exhausted, but elated. Wonderful last day of trade for 2019, finishing off an amazing year. Thank you all for your support. To our regulars, thank you for being a part of the Poppies family. To everyone else, we'd love to see more of you! Next year promises to be another big year. We open up again on the 10th of January, with a change to our Wednesday night menu. Pasta night was... great, but it's time has come. Wednesday night will be our new Cajun and Creole Night, with something to please everyone. Have a safe and happy Christmas, may you all be surrounded with love and joy in this holiday period. 06.01.2022 Cajun and Creole Night tonight!!! After a great soft launch last week, it returns, a couple of slight changes. The food is simply delicious. One of Chef Grant's favourite aspects of this food is that some of it, is, well... ugly, but damn delicious. Gumbo, it's a stew, Etoufee is in a rich brown gravy, there is no way they are ever looking pretty. But damn they taste GOOD! Here is the Cajun and Creole night menu, come in and have a taste of the Deep South.... For those not into the spice of life, some of our regular fare is available too...

We will bring you the best of Southern US cooking, to tantalise and excite your palette. Thursday nights will continue to be our American BBQ night. You know what it's about.
