15.01.2022 It's all happening in Sydney this long weekend. Some very interesting exhibitions, tours and talks for everyone.

13.01.2022 During a recent visit to Singapore: early modern architecture is seen across all fronts from their well-designed PWD and SIT buildings to private residences such as these. Well-designed white buildings with beautiful curves in a landscaped settings. Other notable modern buildings include the Kallang Airport's main-building from 1930s on Nicoll Highway opposite the National Stadium, and The Waterboat Office by Swan & Maclaren (1919), which now houses a restaurant on the river.

12.01.2022 'Organic architecture is from within. It is not referring to something thats hanging in a butchers shop. Organic means an entity where the whole is to the part as the part is to the whole. The nature of the materials and purpose and nature of the entire performance becomes a necessity and out of that comes the significance you can give the building as a creative artist. I try to put a family into the house first, then we try to put in a sense of unity that makes it part of the site. If successful you cant imagine that house anywhere else than where it is. It graces its environment rather than disgraces it.' http://ow.ly/AIwT30fL9K0

12.01.2022 Read about our soon to be constructed house in Leura, NSW. With a BAL Flame Zone rating the bushfire resistance measures are at a maximum. #bushfireconstruction #australianarchitecture #porebskiarchitects #architectsassist @architectsassist For those who have been affected or know of family or friends who have been affected by the recent fires, the Australian Institute of Architects has launched Architects Assist (founded by Atelier Jiri Lev ) which has been setup to offer pro bono design and planning assistance to those who lost everything and did not have sufficient means to start rebuilding their lives and livelihoods. Porebski Architects has stepped up to this great initiative and look forward to assisting those in need. https://bit.ly/2sOxWbk

09.01.2022 If you've invested in an architect to design and document your home, then most likely you'd want to ensure that you are getting what you paid for. Our latest blog here covers a topic that we often hear about - the importance of having an architect to oversee the construction. #porebskiarchitects #architecturensw #construction https://bit.ly/2wlEwEB

08.01.2022 An article by Amelia Barnes from Domain this weekend discussing the materials we enjoy using and feature in the Park House Woollahra that we recently completed. Concrete brick and block work, off form concrete, timber and zinc are materials that feature in our buildings and can be dressed up or left raw. https://www.domain.com.au//will-never-date-the-five-key-m/

04.01.2022 We are pleased to have had the first house our firm completed in 1973 listed as a heritage item with Willoughby City Council. The Maley House completed in 1973 was designed by Andre Porebski, as a newly graduated architect. The design was praised by writer Eva Buhrich, who wrote a newspaper article at the time, reflecting on architecture in 1973. Her favourites for that year were Sydneys Opera house and a number of individual homes, including the Castlecrag house, one of a s...elect few. Nothing spectacular has happened in home building, except for these projects, she wrote. Many thanks to Willoughby City Council and the heritage team of Elizabeth Gibson, Jennifer Hill, Jacqueline Mullard and Ian Arnott for giving recognition to this work. 04.01.2022 Thank you Home Beautiful magazine and our lovely clients for featuring our Waverley House in the current May issue. For the full project visit http://www.porebskiarchitects.com.au/portfo/waverley-house/

02.01.2022 Willoughby Council recently undertook a study of notable houses in the area and we are pleased to learn that the first house designed by Andre Porebski, the Maley House in Castlecrag, is one of those selected. The other houses included in the listing are those by Rickard, Seidler, Gruzman, Buhrich, Castleden, Frischknecht, Glynn Nicholls and Hall. The owners saw Andre's first house he completed in Kurraba Point while still studying and knew that he was the right man for the job! (Sometimes it pays to take a punt on things). Designed in 1972, the house is a simple compact perforated white cube that provided a wonderful family home for over 40 years. https://www.porebskiarchitects.com.au//castlecrag-house-1/

01.01.2022 An enjoyable project transforming a Californian bungalow into a family home is featured in the current issue of Home Design Magazine
