23.01.2022 "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."

22.01.2022 Today, the 21st of April, marks one year since the passing of our beloved club members Ross 'Po' & Andy Powell. A year has now passed, we have created new level of strength and resilience within our club. We are very proud of how our members and community have come together to support one another. It is a special club that we are all a part of. We have been supported through this time by the wider community and boarder Surf Life Saving Community in Victoria, Australia and i...nternationally, which we are extremely grateful for. We miss Po and Andy constantly, and they will be present in everything we do at PCSLSC. Our thoughts are with the Powell family at this time. We remind our members that member support is available by contacting LSV Comms at any time on (03) 9676 6930 or other PCSLSC members, we are always here for chat.

22.01.2022 Ross and Andy Powell’s passion for volunteering, education and agriculture will live on through a new scholarship fund announced today. The Powell family, along with the local community, has made a substantial donation to establish the fund and today Federal Member for Wannon Dan Tehan announced an additional $100,000 contribution from the Federal Department of Education and Training. The Powell Legacy Fund will be administered by the DemoDAIRY Foundation which is already str...uctured as a charity and set up to manage grants and scholarships. Please read more here...

19.01.2022 Today we mourn the loss of Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club's Ross ‘Po’ and Andy Powell, who tragically died while conducting a rescue operation on Easter Su...nday last year. Po and Andy were both highly-experienced and well-respected members of the club and wider Port Campbell community and their loss continues to be greatly felt across the lifesaving movement and community. Our continued thoughts are with the Powell family, Port Campbell SLSC and wider Port Campbell community at this difficult time. Our thoughts are also with fellow lifesaver Phil Younis, who was also involved in the incident, and his continued long-term recovery from the serious injuries that he sustained. We remind our members that member support is available by contacting LSV Comms at any time. Today we would like to invite our wider lifesaving family to reflect and take a moment to remember Po and Andy, as well as all lifesavers who have lost their lives. This may take the form of wearing your club gear, the red and yellow, or by observing a minute’s silence at 12pm. You can also reflect via the Powell's Youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuetJjV77i71oDfymzFCSBg

16.01.2022 This Sunday, being Easter Sunday prompts us to remember the tragic loss of Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club members Ross ‘Po’ and Andy Powell. While respect...ing the privacy of the Powell family and the Port Campbell lifesaving community at this difficult time, we would like to invite our wider lifesaving family to reflect and take a moment to remember Po and Andy, as well as all lifesavers who have lost their lives. This may take the form of wearing your club gear, the red and yellow, or by observing a minute’s silence at 12pm on Easter Sunday. While we will have to be physically separate in marking this occasion due to our unusual coronavirus situation, we encourage everyone to still be together in the spirit of lifesaving during this moment. Please share this with your community to encourage them to do the same and remember our fallen heroes.

11.01.2022 Throughout the last week, we concentrated on a different area of our organisation, highlighting our volunteer's dedication to our movement each day. However, we... cant p'ossibly capture all the roles across one week and today is about the unsung heroes. Therefore, to those that don’t take on a role, but instead go out of their way to give back to the community by helping at events, fundraising for their local club or simply flipping sausages on a BBQ, we say thank you to each and every one of our 38,000+ volunteers. If you or anyone else has been inspired by some of the posts this week, we encourage you to head to the below link and consider joining one of our Life Saving Clubs: https://lsv.com.au/clubs-m/support/join-a-life-saving-club/

05.01.2022 Today is the kick off of National Volunteer Week, the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. To help recognise ...this and the outstanding contribution of our volunteers, we will be sharing a post a day to highlight the voluntary work completed within the lifesaving community. For the first day of National Volunteer Week, we’d like to acknowledge the Club Committees of Management members, who are key to an organisation’s operations and ensure their members can enjoy the wonderful programs. Within Victoria’s 57 life saving clubs, there are 500+ leadership personnel who fill roles like president, secretary, treasurers, club captains, gear officers, chief instructors, team managers, junior coordinators, member protection officers and many more. Without these dedicated individuals our members would not enjoy the fantastic experiences each and every day. Thank you to all our dedicated Club Committee Members for your contribution to lifesaving. #NVW2020
