23.01.2022 The COVID-19 situation continues to develop with new regulations being implemented by our Government and Governing bodies. MAST has issued notices on Facebook which I feel are important to display on our web page as not all people have Facebook. Please read carefully and follow instructions as we prevent the spread of this nasty bug. View the lastest MAST updates here: https://www.mast.tas.gov.au/news/... I once again I ask all members to be mindful of family and friends and offer support via phone or social media to stay in touch but to keep the 1.5M distancing and remember with hygiene to wash your hands for 20 seconds per wash during these tough times. We will keep you up to date with further club notices on the web page notice board when they come to hand and lets hope we can all set sails again real soon. Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter Kind regards, Stephen McElwee

08.01.2022 COVID-19 Update #5 Hi to all our Members. Well here we find ourselves into the 5th week of isolation and lockdown so how are we all doing?... I know for myself it could not have happened at a better time with the ankle operation which brought my yachting season to a halt. But for the rest of you, it must be frustrating not being able to compete or simply go boating. Restrictions on boating enforced by our Govt still stands with the restrictions to be revised on the 15 May. The restrictions are listed please click on link to observe them. View the lastest MAST notices here - www.mast.tas.gov.au/news/ I have been in discussion with Treasurer David Shepherd and we can assure you that the Club is in a healthy situation financially and hopefully we can ride this pandemic out and start looking forward as to how the next season will unfold both on and off the water. Concerns have been raised regarding security around the moored and trailer park vessels. I can assure that the club has most bases covered to support the security of equipment with our onsite Bosun Leigh, resident yachters based out on their moorings and our security camera system. But the liability falls back on the owner for loss or damage to equipment the Club is not responsible. If any Members are concerned about their vessel laid up on moorings during this time of uncertainty and find their boat requires urgent attention our local Jack of all trades Wells is on standby to assist with resecuring or attending to small matters that arise. Thanks, Jack At the next committee meeting, we will discuss matters around the Annual Dinner Prize Giving Night and the AGM for the best solution as to the way we present and handle the situation for the Club moving forward. If Members have any input or questions regarding this latest report please dont hesitate to contact myself or a Committee Member. Over this time wed love to start compiling stories of our members and history of the club, we would encourage everyone to keep their committee informed of any news regarding their fellow Members so that relevant information with pictures can be put in the next Semaphore as required. Some members have a wealth of information about the history of the Club or a renovation or alterations to their yachts. So please keep supporting your club and post your information to email Georgia Witt - [email protected] If any Members are in need of anything please give me a ring and I may be able to assist stay safe and keep in touch. Kind regards, Stephen McElwee Commodore
