07.01.2022 So excited for Zackariah Young who attended a trial camp in Whyalla in October last year, he was then selected to move forward from a number of boys and attend another trial in Mount Gambier in November. From this trial round he was selected to be apart of the Emerging Athlete Development Program, he was then placed into a Development Team for the 2021 Under 14 Adelaide Invitational Challenge which is held next week. The AIC is a one-off event, co-hosted by SA Country and Bas...ketball SA to replace the Southern Cross Challenge, Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup, and East Coast Challenge, which have all been cancelled due to COVID-19. He will be staying with the other players at the West Beach Parks from Wednesday until Sunday. Zacky is very excited and happy that he has been given this opportunity to be selected into the SA Country Basketball High Performance Program and can not wait to represent the Port Lincoln Basketball Association while playing next week. 06.01.2022 COVID SAfe Check-In will roll out from tomorrow, to enhance contact tracing and keep our community COVID safe. All businesses or organisations with a COVID Safe... Plan will be required to display a COVID SAfe Check-In QR Code, and also provide an alternate paper record sheet for contact tracing records. The mySA GOV app will host the COVID SAfe Check-In feature, which once opened, will allow you to scan a business’ QR code. The app securely collects limited personal information as you enter a business or venue. Your details will only be kept for 28 days and will only be released to SA Health for official contact tracing purposes. Download the free mySA GOV app Available now on Google Play Available on the App Store from Tuesday afternoon As Apple finalises its requirements, users are able to sign in manually until available on the App Store from Tuesday afternoon. If you have already downloaded the app, make sure you have the latest version. More information is available at www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/business-and-work/covid-safe-check-in

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Keely Wiseman and Charlotte Pedler competing in the Adelaide challenge. Both were part of the SA county Sharks team and had several days of playing in high level games against other SA country and SA metro teams. Any other year they would be playing in Albury at the Australian Junior Country Cup. So proud of you girls and your commitment.

04.01.2022 To all players and parents Port Lincoln Basketball Association has reviewed our new COVID-Safe Plan which was received last night (Monday) and although it is late notice, we are ready to return to play today (Tuesday). There will be some new rules that we are all going to have to abide by: 1) We need to comply with the SA Government's new requirements regarding using the QR code and mySA GOV app 2) If you do not have the mySA GOV app you will be required to provide your name ...to the stadium officers (this is the same as prior to the lockdown) 3) All players and spectators are required to check-in at the Stadium Officers table 4) Players, coaches and scorers only are able to enter the Leisure Centre and sign-in 10 minutes prior to the schedule start time of the game 5) Spectators (only ONE per player - no exceptions) are to enter the Leisure Centre at the designated start time of the game, ie. 4pm, 5pm, 6pm or 7pm The PLBA has to work with the YMCA to ensure that the number of our members and YMCA patrons do not exceed the numbers allowed in each area of the facility, and we appreciate your understanding with any requirements that we need to adhere to. Thank you for your patience. --- Port Lincoln Sharks Basketball Association
