21.01.2022 And that's a wrap! What a way to spend a long weekend working with South Australia's next-generation Hockey players. ... Yesterday we saw the U15 Metro & Regional Fire Academy come together and compete in a Hockey 5's tournament. Upstairs they completed a Bullying & Violence prevention workshop. Today the U18 Academy hit the pitch. Some exciting goals and great team play! Both Men & Women squads completed a Drug & Alcohol Education seminar hosted by Sammy D Foundation. It's great to see 300+ athletes from across the State attend the State Hockey Centre over the past 3 days. #FIREDUP

19.01.2022 Hi all As you may have heard, this will be my last week as President and as a member of the PLHA board. This year has been an extremely challenging year to get hockey up and running. But its fantastic how the Port Lincoln hockey community have supported the board during this season and how many people have came out for a hit this year. Due to COVID, the season started with a lot of new regulations and restrictions. The 9 a side format ensured we could get as many teams play...ing as possible. Without this format we would have been like many other sports and not been able to play. The 2020 season has been purely about ensuring games can run and encouraging new people to play. Im proud of the achievements of the PLHA Board during my time on the board. There have been many changes with a new constitution, bylaws and policies and we have just been recognised as the 198th star club member. A great achievement. Many upgrades have also been completed around the facilities with over $500000 works being completed. The biggest being the turf upgrade. I would like to thank all current and past board members I have worked with. Also a massive thanks to Shelley for allowing this time. She has dealt with life matters as I have been too busy dealing with hockey. Its due to the toll this position has taken on my family life that Im stepping off the Board. The PLHA is currently looking for three new board members to join for the rest of the season. We cannot run hockey without a functioning Board. If these positions are not filled we may need to cut the season short. So please talk to myself or your club presidents about what roles need to filled and when the next board meeting is. Thanks Shane
