08.01.2022 Port MacDonnell, South Australia. The Boandik People, lived largely on produce from the sea and the authentic fishing village is now home to just over 1,000 peo...ple, many of whom still rely on the sea for their income and pleasure. Affectionately known as The Bay, Port MacDonnell offers a myriad of water sports like swimming, surfing, snorkeling, fishing, sailing and boating along with golfing, bowling, skate boarding, walking and cycling tracks and a great Community Complex with library, gallery, museum and free internet for anyone to use. The annual Bay Escape; Food, Wine and Lifestyle is a family-friendly festival and celebration of coastal lifestyle set for Saturday, 22 February 2020. If you cant make it that weekend you can still grab a great meal at one of the food venues in town; Bay Pizzaria, Breakwater Fish & Chip Cafe, Parade Fish Shop, Periwinkles Cafe, Port MacDonnell General Store or the Victoria Hotels Shipwreck Bistro.
