19.01.2022 Port Stephens Council operates After School Care at Seaham Public School and recently conducted a survey to gauge the demand for morning care. Unfortunately, results of the survey did not demonstrate sufficient demand to establish Before School care at this stage. The average attendance indicated was two children per day. We thank the seven families who completed the survey and commit to undertaking a similar survey next year.

19.01.2022 NSW Health is urging parents and carers to keep young children at home if they are sick amid a rise in viral gastroenteritis cases in childcare centres. Gastroe...nteritis is highly infectious and may spread rapidly in childcare centres. Nearly 60 childcare centres reported outbreaks of gastroenteritis in October, which is significantly higher than usual. More than 480 children and 120 staff have been affected and levels have remained high throughout November. Symptoms of viral gastroenteritis include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, headache and muscle aches. They can take up to three days to develop and usually last between one or two days, sometimes longer. For more information visit https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/gastroenteritis/
