13.01.2022 This is one of our Filipino Seafarers whos family and home have been affected by the Ash fall from the Taal Volcano. There is a 14klm exclusion zone around the Volcano. Up to half a million people affected. His wife and 3 daughters 11,9&6 years old have been evacuated, however their little dog did not survive. Many people had to leave pets & livestock behind to save themselves. Many homes have clasped under the weight of the ash.

10.01.2022 Imagine you were told by your employer that you had to remain at your workplace without leaving for more than 12 months. Imagine that while all of this was happening your family and friends were back in your home country dealing with COVID-19 and you cant do a thing about it. You cant touch them, you cant care for them.....at the very best you might be able to have a short phone call with them. Now imagine that you are injured at that very same workplace. Imagine the pain ...you would feel when you are told by your employer that you may not receive professional medical attention as it is too difficult to arrange in the current COVID environment. These are just two examples of the many struggles seafarers around the world are experiencing at the moment. A seafarers life was tough before COVID-19 but now its a whole lot tougher so lets show our support by telling their story and acknowledging all that they are doing for us. Thanks to AJ Bull for nominating me for the #comite challenge. Now its time for me to pass the baton on. Id like to pass the comite baton onto the following people: - Rev. Chris Pierce in Northern Ireland - Jason Rebello in Port Hedland - John S Hague at Seafarers Port Hedland
