09.01.2022 We got caught a little by surprise when the government changed its plans for museums opening. They have not however updated the industry specific restrictions y...et which deal with things such as whether we have to have a workforce bubble, meaning our volunteers couldn’t work elsewhere. Hopefully that will be updated this week and we can finalise our COVIDSafe Plan. Museums are tricky things with COVID restrictions not least because most of our exhibits can’t be cleaned particularly our library & archives. This will have all sorts of implications in terms of how these can be accessed which we’re still going through in conjunction with Museums Australia Victoria. We will keep you up to date as we know but we’re not open yet and it’s fair to say we won’t be open until December at the earliest.
