20.01.2022 There are only nine days left to collect firewood this season. The Autumn Firewood Collection Season for 2018 will close across Victoria next weekend. From Sund...ay 1 July 2018, it will be illegal to collect firewood on public land until the start of spring, so we encourage everyone to take advantage of the last remaining days to collect firewood. You are permitted to take a maximum of two cubic metres per person per day, and a maximum of 16 cubic metres per household per financial year. Firewood collected is for personal use only and cannot be sold, and the felling of any trees by members of the public is also strictly prohibited. Parks, forests and reserves will be patrolled to ensure people are doing the right thing. To find your nearest firewood collection area or for more information and updates visit www.ffm.vic.gov.au/firewood, or contact your nearest DELWP office.

16.01.2022 FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN SEPTEMBER FOR FIRST TIME EVER CFA Gippsland will introduce fire restrictions in parts of Gippsland next month, much earlier than usual. It...s the first time fire bans will apply in Gippsland in September. The fire restrictions will come into force in East Gippsland and Wellington Shires on September 10th and could remain in place until April. Under the bans, it is illegal to light any fire without a permit. CFA (Country Fire Authority) CFA Chief Officer

15.01.2022 In any emergency incident, it is crucial for brigades to know the whereabouts of their firefighters. On 11 July 2018, this will become significantly easier, whe...n CFA begins using a Resource Tracking System (RTS) to collect GPS location data on vehicles in brigades across the state. The data is generated by a receiver that is attached to the vehicles CFA mobile radio. This means that anytime the radio is switched on, CFA receives the location of that vehicle. While there is always a risk in responding to emergency incidents, technology such as this helps to increase the safety of all CFA staff and volunteers. #cfavic #gippsnews #cfasoutheast

02.01.2022 Statement from Ambulance Victoria CEO Associate Professor Tony Walker: Ambulance Victoria is extremely disappointed that an opportunity to send a strong messag...e to the community about violence against paramedics was missed with yesterdays County Court decision. This is an extremely difficult time for our colleagues Paul Judd and Chenaye Bentley and our thoughts are with them today and always. We have worked hard in the past two years to make significant changes at Ambulance Victoria to ensure that the safety of our hard working paramedics is our Number One priority. Aggression and abuse towards paramedics is completely unacceptable and in this case, Paul and Chenaye, two of our highly-trained, dedicated people were injured while simply trying to do their jobs, helping someone in need. 01.01.2022 Its that time again! Sunday 1st April - Dont forget!

01.01.2022 Tomorrow, Wednesday 29th April at 5:40 pm, many CFA brigades across Victoria will sound their sirens four times. Each siren sounding will represent and honour the brave members of Victoria Police who lost their lives in the line of duty in Kew at 5:40 pm Wednesday 22nd April 2020. If you can hear our siren at 5:40pm tomorrow, there is no reason to be alarmed.... We encourage community members to utilise this time to take a moment to reflect and remember the sacrifice made by Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King, Constable Josh Prestney and Constable Glen Humphris.
